Hi there,

I am new here and I just got my old Diamondback Viper out of my parents garage - its been sittin pretty for 15 years!

Anyways, this might seem to be a stupid question but I am going to post this bike on ebay soon and I am trying to figure out when it was manufactured. My parents kinda remember buying it around 1982-83, but how can I confirm?

Any help would be much appreciated...

Kevin

Welcome to the site biggrin.gif
As BMX2112 said, a serial# will answer the question. Here's some sites about DB's that may help.

Hope this helps - Nice bike btw.

That would make it a 1983 Akisu manufactured Viper. smile.gif

Here's a direct link to the same model, theres also additional links at the footer of the page

Just something to consider, for the small amount of financial gain, think carefully before you sell it, many people in here, have regretted selling their childhood bikes.

Oh no! I hope you don't sell it, you should clean it up and get the bike back into shape like it was when your parents gave it to you. You will probably regret it later on if sold it. I would gladly buy that bike from you, as I have always wanted a DB but sorry to burst your bubble, I don't think you are going to make a fortune selling it. Might just be better of keeping the bike and enjoy it once in a while.....but thats just me.....I might have some things for trade from Japan if you are interested.

I'm going to jump in and say don't sell it too. I would give anyting to have my bike back from when I was a kid.
If you sell it, it's gone forever.
By the way, I have a DB Viper...I know they are low end DB, but mine is one of my favorite riders.
Keep it, clean it and ride it.
