This is only my second or third post here, so if I am off-base, just slap me and I'll get over it.
How about the Hustler Pit Bike with Baby Bottema forks? I had one in '83-'84 and wish over and over that I had it back. I remember it was made for Ralph's Bicycles that I saw mentioned here, earlier and I raced in AZ with a group of guys loosely sponsored by Ralphs. I went back to Montana after my time in AZ and worked at the local bike shop as their BMX "expert". Those were the days.
Also, what about the S & S Works Replica? Not an extremely popular bike, but it was good enough for my dad to outfit our team in Salt Lake City with in the early 80's.
Just my contribution, thanks for taking the time to read it,

Wow, That is great to hear a few people mention Ralphs bike, the Hustler. I had already officially retired when he started making them. I remember sitting around with him trying to come up with a name for the frame.

Quick story, I remember us laughing at one of our ideas for a name. I suggested the name Assassin. He liked it, but was afraid of people bleaking down the name. I can't spell it out for you because of cencorship, but the first 3 letters and the second 3 letters give it away. laugh.gif It was ok for us to laugh at it but he didn't want others laughing at his expense.

So he chooses Hustler, ...go figure!

I have a 20" frame hanging out in the garage. Is it worth posting a picture of it?

As for Reilleys mention of my Rink Raider/Peddlepower, I have no clue as to production run, but there were quite a few of us riding them in the mid 70s. As far as I know I have the only one remaining. The geometry is terrible and they are far from slick looking, but climbing off a Schwinn Stingray on to one of these was a positive step to where we are now.

Pics would be great, the more the merrier. I sold my pit bike to our paperboy and can still remember him peddling that little monster up the street in the frozen snow, bit by bit.
I have an idea that the bike is sitting in someone's back yard, up against a shed and nobody in the town has any idea what it is or how special it would be for me to have back.
Maybe worth a little classified ad in the small town paper................

Any Profab, aka Two Wheelers pro, the guys who made the killer ultra rare alloy forks that most of the JMC aces ran. I am finally an owner of one (thanks Reilley1). I know of one other w/euro BB, and I know of a Profab tandem (probably only one left). Profab made many frames for other companies. There big Biz was MX swingarms, and triple clamps. I had one on my YZ. They are/were based out of Chandler AZ. Now they are custom, one off machine and fab shop for the aerospace industry, and NO they have no old frames laying around, I asked a long time ago. Tried to upload an old pic of one but it's to big. I'll try a pic of just the frame later. Who knows you may have one and not know it. If it's euro bb, PM me

There are sa many one off's and small company bikes it's hard to say. Then yu get into the 30+ year olds making it even harder.

Back in the 80's I met one of the owners of Direct Link at a skatepark in PA. He was instructing at Woodward.

The Huffy Pro thunder was a cheaper model and like the one pictured. The Pro Lightning had teardrop style tubing and a tear drop seatpost. They were the top of the line. I would love to find one of those. Just for the weird factor. I'm sure they were all ridden, broken and junked as they were only Huffy's. If you go by the percentages, I'm sure there were thousands made and very few are still around which makes them a lot more rare than other bikes the guys have listed.

[size="4"]i have a chrome frame and a black frame, dont think im gonna use either.

Back in the day My friends brother was Factory SE and there dad ran are local Track. His name is
Robert Hicks. My friends brothers name is Bobby Hicks. My friends name was bradley Hicks, any
way the dad had a special (PK Ripper) made out of Titanium 20" it cost like $1500.00 back in 79 or
80. That is the only one I know of that was ever built. I would think that would have to be one of
the rarest frames around, if it is still around.

This is a great hobby and you will NEVER have every rare bike. Just be happy that sometimes you get the opportunity to find just one rare cool old original. With hard work there is still a LOT of bikes to be found!

I bought a frame & fork a while back that I thought was a 24" Cook Bros 3 bar cruiser, which I'd never heard of.

Finally started building it up last night. With the wheels on, the frame just didn’t look like it was sitting right. Head tube angle was way too steep, & the middle bar wasn’t near level (too low up front). When I sat it next to my 26” CBR cruiser, the problem & solution became obvious.

Turns out this isn’t a 24” 3-bar cruiser, it’s a 26”/24” 3-bar cruiser! I mounted a 26” CBR fork & a 26” wheel, while keeping the 24” rear (no way a 26” will fit the rear), head tube angle is right & the middle bar is level. Now it looks right sitting next to the 26” cruiser.

So I'd have to say a 26/24 Cook Bros Cruiser. This is the first one I've even heard of.

those Murray frames rock! I've been looking unsuccessfully for a nice 20 inch Murray frame for over a year.
And how rare are those frame decals wacko.gif

Heres one from downunder.
BBR frames pro model.
1 of three made.
They were welded up by the Quicksilver designer in his lunchbreaks and slow periods!
He made a heap of different styles so this is one of his more common frames!

Heres one of the others. Owned by the same person.

And heres the designer on one of his prototypes. This is probably a one off though.

Those look like pretty cool. They are like a cross between Thruster, Mongoose, and Vector or something. It's like the designer picked features from his favorite bike and incorporated them into one bike. biggrin.gif The one appears to have non-pinch flight cranks. Nice!

FactoryHuffy - let me get all caught up on shipping and then YES - I would like to see this one go to someone who would really apprecaite it for their collection. I just got it since it had all the Aero tubing and really good shape!
I did clean it up a little bit since those pictures and once I get all these international packages out of here I will have a little more time to get organized on BMX again.

I also want to add - the Hybrid Cook Bros 24/26 - MoosegooseNick has one of the 24/26's. Bought it off eBay about a year ago! Cool bike!

A page or so back we mentioned Ralphs Hustler frame. Here is a picture as it was, new back in the 80s.

Here are a couple pictures as it is now. I loaned it to a nephew a while back and while I was cleaning it up today I discovered he masked over the stickers and spray bombed the rest. It is a good color match, but still ruff.

What do you think? Wall art, as is? Or re-finish?
