Full Version: Why Are Dominator Seats Lettering Different Colors?

Every white dominator seat I have found has gold lettering. I remember the one I had on my '86 haro sport had gold lettering. In the '88 haro catalog they all have black lettering on the white seats. Did they come in two versions? Is the black version out there or was that just for the catalog?

Haro started with gold in 85. Then around 87 to 88 most (that i've seen) had blue lettering. I think the black ones are later. The blue dominators are hard to find. I'm sure there is a viscount expert around here somewhere.

I think I remember seeing one seats with black print BITD. This one appears to have black lettering:

Logo isn't exactly in the usual spot either...it seems to be a bit further from the nose. Maybe it's just the view, but it also looks like a ever-so-slightly different shape. (?)

Many 85 Masters had blue lettering on white seats, while sports had either gold or silver lettering. The elusive blue lettering on a white seat is EXTREMELY hard to find.

My early 88 sport has the blue lettering, I unfortunately found out that the "blue" wipes off fairly easily when I cleaned it with some westley's bleche-white. Under the blue is a more permanent silver.

Paul,

Ouch, that Westley's stuff works awesome, I've had similarly bad experiences with it. It will take the paint / markings off of your turn signal yoke too (just for future reference).

Speaking of your Sport. Deck installation labor / experience = 88 Sport?

I think I still have two of those seats with the BLUE lettering, used, but very good condition.

Just for reference, here's a pic of the blue print on one of the nicest Master survivors I've ever seen:

about a year ago i tried to determine the screen colors and rail colors of dominator seats

that research turned into this

im still working on finding all the different rail colors and screen color variations, along with the non-screened versions

i kinda thought the color of the letters matched the bike.. i had a blue/black haro master with a white seat blue letters.. the rare one u speak of, i sold it on ebay a while ago for like 20ish...

i had a grey/yellow haro sport with white dominator and grey letters on it... i had an 86 haro sport with silver letters.

ive seen more black letter than any other. i think my pink seat has gold letters. this is interesting
