I'll post you some pics if you e-mail them over to me. I don't think anyone will be able to determine much from your # other than it's an overseas frame. Let's take a look and narrow it down some.

it's a 1987-built frame (the 7 in the serial). taiwanese. coulda been either an '87 or 88 model depending on exactly when it was built/built up.

Of course, Mr. C. don't need no stinkin' pictures to tell you. He's good like that.

Boy, you sure do work fast, there. You'll probably be done by the time I'm done posting these pix. Yup, it sure looks like an '87 to me, but I can't say I've ever seen those decals. Good move with the mag change, for sure. Looks like you'll have a clean looking bike when all is said and done.
I think you were asking opinions for "correct" decals before. I say go with whatever you like as looking best. Myself, I'd probably go for some '84 World Tour decals or something.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Sorry I was only able to post the 2 pics.
My VBMX pic hosting account is seemingly uncompatible with the new format here, so I figured I was limited to doing the "attachment" deal.
I just found out it looks like a member is only allowed 500K of attachments, or basically two decent sized pics. I just used up my remaining attachment allotment on those two.

I guess I'll have to post links to all my pictures from now on, unless I can get some answers. Unfortunately, the only person to respond for my cry for help over here was Drob, and his suggestion didn't work (thanks anyhow, dude). And my query in the stickied thread in the tech and support forum hasn't been addressed, either.
That, and I had to delete all my PMs. I sent out several PMs yesterday and I haven't gotten a reply from anyone, leading me to fear that they were never received (or that nobody loves me).

Me and this new version of VBMX just aren't getting along too well right now. mad.gif

man-u guys are good! i appreciate it yall. i actually already bought '87 pro performer decals and am installing them tom. i will send pics. i dont really care if it was originally a pp or not. by the time i am done-it will have better components than the reg and pro performer anyhow. i really like the decals that were on it-however i think it would be futile to try to find them nos. all i need is cranks and a headset. i am thinking redline flights-but i would really love the cranks that came on the pft's. any clue where to find them? thanks again!
Axlepeg
I take it you mean the 3 piece that came on the PFT team model. Those were called Power Series and were very good cranks. Best bet is to post in the Wanted section here or, of course, eBay...they come up often enough. Just make sure they have spindle bolts in good condition. Don't bother bidding on a pair that are wicked cheap, but without spindle bolts, thinking you'll get them elsewhere...you'll just be among a large # of people who can't find bolts for their Power Series cranks.
