I'd be wary of that one - especially with the work it's had done. The cable guides are definitely added on, the serial isn't typical of DBs with that gusset and the rear end doesn't look right to me.

There were certainly tri-moly non-loop DBs with that gusset in '79/80 - see pics from DB catalogue below. The bike on the far right was sold with the centurion style gusset (pictured) as well as the traditional DB gusset. See the red F&F below.

But the rear end on the one you have isn't right - there should be a plate above the brake bridge running up to the seat tube, and the plate down near the BB doesn't look like any DB I've seen.

I guess if you can add cable guides, you can add gussets too. It's either not a DB. or one that's been very fiddled with. Unless you can see what's under that later powder coat, you won't really be able to tell which welds are new and which original.

Holes for "safety washers" in the fork dropouts...

Thanks for the info and pics Kurt. Look at the brake bridge - it doesn't look like DB to me...
I may strip it back and check the welds. It may become a "lake jumper" tongue.gif
The stickers are in good nick though. That's a plus smile.gif

Agentheinz I think the forks are just Tange copies.

Even the overseas cheaper DB's had the same look as the US models. I would personally guess that that thing is some sort of copy.
