Full Version: Help With Posting Pix

I wish I could simply blame it on the pain pills, but I was floundering even before taking them. I'm just not very adept at computers.
Anyway, I'd like to post some pics without using the attachment option. You know, just like the good old days (last month) where I could push a button and insert the URL from my VBMX pic hosting service, and BANG - the picture I want is displayed at the size I want.
Well, when I try that, I get this:

THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND
You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board. A valid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.gif, an invalid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.one.gif

I don't even really see (read: understand) the difference between those two formats. All the "help" topics I read are in a jargon that I just don't understand. I already did a search to see if someone was asking a similar question, but didn't have any luck.

Who can please tell me, in layman's terms, how to get a URL such as the one provided below, to be displayed as a picture. As a token of my appreciation I'll post some pics from FREESTYLIN' of whatever you request. Thanks.

It looks like the board code doesn't know how to parse the name "picture.one.gif" with the two dots rather than one. In the code, it's probably chopping the name by the first dot it sees rather than the last dot to figure out what the name of the file is. If that's the case then it's a buggy code thing. If you can make sure your file has only one dot and ends with ".gif" or ".jpg" it might work. If that does fix it, I'd file a bug in the suggestion box and maybe just post that Bench Slap ad again as my reward! Ha.
