Volcano
G'day everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself.
I come from the sunny city of Brisbane, Australia. I've been collection BMX's for a while now and starting to build a collection. My collection includes Mongoose motomag (kerbside find - Complete!), Mongoose Californian, Redline MX2, Shimano 5000, 2 Diamond Backs, Quicksilver and a Huffy Pro Thunder.
I think the "bug bit hard" when I tracked down my old californian I gave to a mate in 1989, he still had it (Skyway tuff 2's and Shimano 600 cranks still on it!). It brought back great memories from the 80's and thrashing the dirt tracks we built.

I've been visiting this site for a while and decided to join. I've already met some great guys so far, in Australia, through the Vinatage BMX network and hope to make some "International" mates. I attended the Qld Vinatge BMX BBQ Gathering that Serva and Roberto organised and that Rocked!

This site is great and just thought I'd say hello...

I've also added a pic (if I've uploaded correctly) of the Mongoose I gave my mate all those years ago that came back to me - woohoo!
So drop me a line and say Hi.

Cheers

Kurt.
Hi Mick,

Welcome. I'm down in Tassie so didn't make the show - shame looks like it was excellent.

Hey - I lived in West End for a year (1976) as a kid, so I guess I've got a little bit of Brissy in me. Still got quite a few relatives up that way.

Hey - more pics!

G'DAY MATE! I actually havn't been on here in quite some time. Well this site, and a few others, can be pretty fun and entertaining with the periodic drama and cool bikes and info. Lot's of cool people here and some really sweet bikes to check out which I see you have some rad bikes yourself there. cool.gif
HORSEPLAY
Welcome !! biggrin.gif
Volcano
Thanks for the welcome guys.

Here is some pics of my bikes. Shimano 5000, Motomag, Redline MX2 and Quicksilver (non-team).
These are older pics of them. I'll try and upload some more recent photos.

I've now stripped them and collecting/trading/buying parts for them all.
I'd like to thank Waza, Glynn, Pete Porker and Gavin for helping me with parts.
Man, this can be an expensive hobby, but worth the effort!

I've also had a 9m x 6m shed built that's almost ready for use. 54 square metre's of soon-to-be BMX heaven!!! Now I just have to fill it......LOL
I've also got to make room for my Offroad Racing 4x4 Truck. I'd love to chat with anyone who's interested in Offroad racing/CORR or Prerunners also.

Apologies for the poor quality of photos. I'm buying a new camera soon. My Redline is the one circled in the Qld BMX Gathering pic below.

Any suggestions on parts choice or colour schemes on the bikes is very welcome too.

Cheers

Hi Volcano. I was there at the bbq in the Iron Maiden shirt. Good to see you here. Looks like you will be busy for quite a while. Nice Redline too.
Volcano
Hey Redlineoz - the beers are in the fridge (can you get me one while you're up?)...LOL tongue.gif
Regarding the DB, I picked it up from a shop in Brisbane about 6 months ago.
Not sure if it was the best Vintage investment I've made, but I have a complete Goose on it's way from a mate in Sydney! Can't wait...

Coasty, I remember you mate, didn't you beat JC in the Bunnyhop comp? wink.gif
I love your Supergoose by the way - that's awesome. Is that your original plate on it?
I also liked your son's redline. Was it an MX2?
COASTY
Yeah Gaz was on fire that day!
The bike my son was riding is actually an RL440 done in retro style. I ride it too. It's a nice bike. The Supergoose is all cleaned up and new proper stickers applied. She's all good for Ashmore. Oh and yeah all my series one plates are mine from bitd.

laugh.gif good stuff laugh.gif while im up laugh.gif

Indeed.. you have some really great foundations for good times ahead there and yes you have been bit.. It's not bad though.. in fact i think that this bug carries a euphoric effect with its bites.. so if you like gazing dreamily at bikes, you are in the right crowd!
Volcano
Joker808 - I had that dreamy look at our local Vintage gathering not so long ago biggrin.gif
The quality of bikes were outstanding! As was Serva's BBQ skills. He cooks a mean sausage.
I'm getting the Shimano frame repaired and searching for some parts for it.

Coasty - Are you going to the Iron Maiden concert? Waz tells me he has tickets for the Melbourne gig.
Can you please take some shots of the Supergoose? How long have you had the bike?

Redlineoz - Glad to bring a smile to ya!
NSR Jamie
Hey ! Welcome ! Nice collection! Cheers!!

No, I wish I was going. I have to drive to melbourne in my Holidays and time and money will be short.
I bought my Supergoose brand new in 1981. F/F only. I added bits over the next 2 years then stopped riding. (women rolleyes.gif ) I just need to get a black brake cable this week.

Hi Mick!
