hey everyone- todd here. i am new to this site-as well as bmx resto in general. i used to ride freestyle everywhere until i turned 16. a buddy of mine and i were bored one day and started talkin about how we used to ride when we were kids. we went to the local bike shop and each bought mirra bikes. we had a blast-but we both missed our old bikes from back in the day. we looked on ebay and saw how much these older bike are going for and were amazed. needless to say-i was hooked. i bought an older gt and started restoring it. i love it! it is so cool searching for parts, etc.. this is the first bike i rebuilt- so i really dont know much about it. i want to do it right tho. i will post pics once i learn how to do it. (i am new to forums as well) lol. i will also post the serial # in hopes that someone can tell me what yr/model the bike is. are these bikes worth more if u restore them to completely original? cause i think it is a reg performer-but if i put 3 pc cranks, better components, etc... would i be wrong by slapping pro perfomer stickers on it? cause the frames were the same in some yrs i believe. anyway-here is a little about me.

Welcome! The serial number would be able to tell us the year/month your GT was made. I know the Pro Performers and the Pro Freestyle Tours were the same frames with just different parts, but the later ones, I think starting in '87, had the double bend down tube while the regular Performers still had the single bend. Not sure if there would be a difference in the tubing or not either. Let's see some pix of it when you can. Do you have any old riding pix either? Those are alwas great to see. Welcome again!
