Hello, all.
I realized I posted without giving a handshake first. Apologies if there is a newbie forum I should post on.
I have a familiar story as I've been lurking for a while, but finally signed up a few weeks back. Started as a racer, got a TrickStar after seeing Haro Trick Team inside a mall in Kansas City around '84ish(?), and rode constantly until my second year of college ('92). Then started again in '96 through '97, and off and on until about a year-and-a-half ago. Been at it since. Right now, my "stable" consists of a survivor '86 Haro FST, my rebuilt '87 Master, a 2006 Retro Sport, and a 2005 24" Haro. My 5 year old has a 16" Hoffman, and my 3 year old tears it up on one of those weird 12" chopper-style stingrays.
Here's a post on my site so you can get my "story":
The Roots of BMXRoots.comHave a dig around - I try to update the site every day or so, depending on the news of the BMX world, or what is inspiring me.
Happy to be here.

Thanks guys. Good to be here.
Pipeline - appreciate the kind words about the site. I'm having so much fun working hard to make it something special.
Alma - Yep, it was the infamous "Metro North show where DMC was signed to Haro". Remember, they were hitting the drop ceiling b/c it was too low with the quarter?

Yes, also remember Bob Haro not riding much because of a knee injury. The 85 Haro show at Bmx Pros bike shop was a great one too.

Axlepeg, here's a couple for you:

My '87 Master - rebuilt to almost the exact specs as I rode it in '88-'91 (and again in '95-'96ish), or at least how I wanted it to be. Seemed like I was always getting second-hand parts from my friends. Only thing I wanna change are the wheels to some chrome Peregrines - just put some Alex 48s on it for now...

My '86 Haro FST - found it in almost showroom stock condition. Cleaned it a bit, added some new gumwalls, and rode it away.

And finally, my 2006 Retro Sport (with the Master). Pretty much stock, with an updated R.E.M. sticker on the downtube to give a nod to the "vintage" one on the Master. ;-)

I like the master, especially recognize the location in Lawrence. Good to see some local midwesterners who still appreciate the old school stuff. I'm all over town with my kids on our motley crew of bikes. I just did a video for a local band with a bunch of franken-bikes downtown. Hope to see you around.

John and Bully,
Thanks for saying hey, fellas.
Bully, send me a link to your video once you get the edit done and I'll post it on my site. What band, by the way. I play in "the brannock device". The band has been around KC/Lawrence for about 13 years now (2 years off while I was in Seattle from 05-this may). Do you know Brian at The Recyclery as well?
Zook, thanks for the invite on Saturday. What time you guys hitting the park? You're talking about the one at Pleasant Valley, yeah? Check my site for an article about the comp last weekend. Oh, and I grew up in KCK, went to high school in Shawnee (SMNW), rode all over JOCO, as well as ocassionally with the "brigade" in Westport, and since school, lived in different parts of KC, and for the past 5 months in Larryville.
