Well, I just finished, sort of, my daughters bike I've been working on-almost in time for winter..
I wanted to go hollywood pink-but it's her bike, so she chose the color-and I've got to say-it looks pretty damn good.
Out of every part, the plate was probably the most fun-she picked the numbers, and I helped lay it out-not a bad job for a 5 year old. Now we can go to the track in style...
She's visiting grandman until Thursday, so she hasn't seen it, I can't wait to see her expression.

That is quite possibly the cutest bike I've ever seen....Totally awesome!!! Only one thing, those pedals tend to consume flesh!!

So whats the story behind the pit bike? Where did you get it? Condition? I think they only came in chrome (unless you are the little Poltergiest girl Heather O'Rourke)

Good luck! I think only about 50 were made in 1984, so far, about 5 are known to exist in the hands of collectors. Along with the lawsuit frame, its one of the rarest Hutches.

Nope, not Heather here

-I actually got the f&f from this site-it was pretty beat up-I'm sure you remember it-but I saw alot of potential. It was chrome originally -but that wasn't great either, so I painted it a two stage glasurit orange (daughters choice) after a few days of work-I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Also, Rod Miles fixed one it's issues. I had more fun with this than many of the cars I've built...I also have a 1 year old son-I guess I'd better start searching for another one! Jon

Oh yeah, now I remember when it came up for sale. Well it came out very nice! I am having the tuff-est time trying to find decent 28 hole hubs to build my wheels with. I have one nos Hutch front, need a rear or a complete set, I would love Bullseyes, Phils, anything considered high end. I have some ACS high flange but it doesnt seem right. What size cranks are those? I am going with a set of 170mm early pinchless Flites, I hope they fit.

Great looking build and the quality level is impeccable. With a new set of pedals, she might just beat the boys in the races to come... what with the added OS influence of course.

I hear ya-I (she) was very fortunate to get those- (we) were originally going to run 16" tuffs since it's a rider-but once it got started, it just snowballed-I'm so glad I (we) went with spokes. The cranks are 152's, I may have to change the sprocket from it's current 42/16 to say a 39/16-we'll see how she does. I would think you'd be fine with the 170's-but if you want a pic or anything to compare-let me know-I have some team schwinn 170's I could stick next to it.
