I let my little guy take off his training wheels yesterday. He was so excited he could hardly contain himself.

Before:

After:

You should have heard the motorcycle noises he was making the whole time he was riding. Made me proud.

Let's see your little guys/girls on their rides. If you don't have pics, get out there and take them, the kids will thank you for it in 30 years.

Here's a couple of pics of my son at the skatepark (his new favortie thing to do). He's 5 and got the training wheels off about a yr and 1/2 ago, but he just "discovered" the skatepark.

And check it out!!! No-footed!!! LOL

My daughter is 7 1/2 and she is scared to ride w/o training wheels. I just don't feel like chasing her up and down the driveway anymore. I guess I'll take her to a vacant parking lot and put pads on her. I remember when I was 6 yrs. old my older brother put the 20" bike next to a 2 feet rock wall so I could sit on it and I went about 10 yards and had to do a U turn to avoid the hill in the driveway but only did a 1/4 turn and went off the drive down the hill and crashed into a garbage can before going into the woods. I learned real quick I'll tell ya!

Hey Joe. What really worked well for my son was buying him a Razor scooter. It was like $30. He learned the balance on 2 wheels fast and it wasn't scary because if he lost his balance it is literally about 2 inches off the ground and he could step off easily.

Once he learned that, which took just a few tries, the biggest obstacle was convincing him that he could do the same on his bike. He finally agreed to try and on his 3rd try he was off and going and has been fine since.
