I get a new Shadow chain by advice from others and the thing is too short for the bike. I have never bought a chain before and had it not be long enough. In fact, I have always had to remove links to size them up. But no, they sell a chain that will only fit a 20" or a 24" with small gears. I have a 26" and am about 4" short on the length.
I emailed them and am just waiting to see what they can do.
If they can't help me out and just send me either a longer one or another section to make it longer, I will just stick to KMC from here on out. For how much these things cost, you would think they would make sure to include enough links to fit any SS bike.

Man, I`m sorry you had a rocky experience after I recommended it! Their customer service ALMOST rivals that of the Snap guys, so you should get the hook up. Greg at Shadow Conspiracy is a no-questions-asked-if-you-aren`t-happy kinda guy. I had a warranty question, just asking what was covered on a particular item. He just told me "I`m sorry if you had any trouble. Send it in, we`ll send you another one. Don`t worry about it."

Just Jeff, no problem with the chain itself other than the length. It's pure bling for a bike. I just hope they can help me out, I really want to use it.
Shawn, that would be awesome. Let me know what you come up with. It would be much appreciated. This bike is incredible looking and I really want to get some pics up. I want to wait until it's done though so I'm jones n' hard to get it finished. PM me if you come up with something.

Greg emailed me yesterday. He was stoked on the vintage scene and wants to see some pics of the bike I'm building. He said he would send out some links for me to add to the chain so I could use it. I will post what happens.

I`m glad to hear it. I was expecting a warranty replacement part from them to come in sometime next week, and when I got home from the track last night there it was, sitting on my front porch in a FedEx box!
Their reputation for service was part of why I went with their handlebars. 25 ounces for a pro size bar (full width, too) and a lifetime warranty.

Yeah, he has been cool. He said he would ship it out last week but he dropped the ball some and it went out Friday. I hope that is. I won't have it till next friday if he did get it out. Oh well, at least he is taking care of it.

Ronnie B, the owner of Shadow Conspirancy, is "one of us." No, he doesn't hang out here on VBMX (I suspect he's way too busy), but he is a late-30's guy who never got out of BMX. He's the real deal, he gives back to the sport in numerous ways, and he makes great, innovative products. Worthy of our support, I'd say.
Maybe I am too old-fashioned for the innernets, but it bugs me when people rip good companies before giving them a chance to make things right.
Nobody's perfect. They probably never thought this chain would need to go on a 26" bike - I'm sure 99% of them go onto 20" bikes with microsized drivetrains (for example 25 tooth chainwheel /9 tooth driver).

retro, never in my post did I bash them Never. I just read my posts again, never. Point it out if I did.
I was just stating I was pist that I paid all this cash for a really trick chain that was too short to use. If you read my first post, I mentioned that this was the first chain I ever bought that came up short. I would perfer they give a measurement so you could see if it would fit ahead of time. Saying it comes with x amount of links does nothing since they use a smaller than normal link. Either way, Greg has been cool to deal with and is very interested in my bikes and this build I have going on right now. He wants me to send him some pics to check out. You are right saying that they are dudes like us as far as BMX is concerned.
They are making it right and sending out another section for me to add to it to use. If it works as advertised, I will switch all my bikes over since I
know I will always get good support from these guys.

I agree, I never saw any sort of bashing. I figured he was just annoyed about the lenghs but overall estatic about it's beauty.

No harm no foul. I'm glad I didn't bash them though. They came through for me. I received a nice length of chain in a sweet little zip lock pouch and a Shadow decal to boot. I can't wait to get it installed.
Shadow is top notch in my book.

Slayer - CAn't wait to see the build. I really* wanted to use that chain also. But, with the old school Redline flight sprocket and Shimano freewheel (3/32), i'm using the Izumi.
I've got a ton of Shadow stuff on my build. Shadow is the bomb!
Post pics when you can.

It's done and the wife has been riding it for a few weeks now. I took a bunch of pics but I'm not happy with how they turned out. I need to clean the bike and take new pics before I can post them. Look in the retro section in the next week for them.
