while i was driving my company van making my deliveries today, something happened with my battery...i turned the key off at one of my stops, and when i went to turn the van back on, the engine wouldnt turn over.....i had to get a jump from someone, and afterwards on the way to my next stop, i looked at the voltage gage for the battery...almost nothing, and the needle was going down.
so i decided to play it safe and pull over...i called my boss and told her what was wrong, so she called a towtruck to come get me.
interesting story i know.
what does this have to do with bikes?
well easy....
when i pulled over to call my boss, i pulled into a shopping center parking lot in Aurora, IL...after i got off the phone with my boss, i got out of the van to enjoy the weather while waiting for the tow.
i saw a guy on a bike.
then i saw said guy start doing some flatland...he started spinning like crazy....so i thought to myself..."look at matt wilhelm over there...heh"
i started to walk over to introduce myself, and then i saw he had blonde hair....and i know matt was from that area originally..when i walked up, he had his back to me.
me: "hey whats up man"
guy turns around
me: "OH **** youre matt wilhelm!!!"
yes!!! what a coincidence!!!
it was meant for me to break down today.
we chatted for a whlie, then i told him i saw the Masters Of Champions show.
matt: "im pretending like that never happened....me and terry did that to try to give flatland some TV time since it RARELY gets any at all....we rode for 3 minutes, and they kept showing out touches and stumbles over and over...they made it look like we kept trying the same tricks but we didnt....that was all in the editing."
we spoke some more....apparently, theres a flatland jam this saturday at 2pm in chicago...wish i could go, but i have prior engagements...(dj'ing at a block party)
matt told me he practices in that same lot alot, so if i ever wanna hang, its cool.
i just might take him up on that.
