So I just finished week 5 of an 8 week camp counselor job. The kids are 8-14 and I am teaching them flatland and dirt jumping. Considering most of the kids were starting from zero, things are going OK.

Flatland wise, I have taught them all at least a couple of little tricks like standing on the left pegs no handed, bunny hops, flipping the bars backwards while riding and a few are working on tail whips. I taught about 5 kids to ride sitting on the crossbar yesterday.

I got a few kids to actually catch air on the jumps. Two have tried no footers and one actually did it. Last week one new kid did break his wrist unfortunately but he is seemingly unconcerned and his parents didn't freak so that's good.

The biggest jump is about 4 feet tall with about 6 feet of flat top. It feels like I am jumping a fat spine ramp because I have to pull back so hard so I don't clear the landing. It's good for the kids but too small for me. It is giving me Ninja like reflexes doing tricks over a little jump.

About 5 kids have gone out and bought BMX bikes and a few more are considering it. I just want them to ride any bike and have fun. They seem to be enjoying it and I am stoked to do my part keeping BMX going for the next generation. Anything to get them away from their xbox's.

It's true that it could be a front flip, it looks rather like a front.
