if anyone can help...
whenever i try to endo, or do anything for that matter that requires pulling my front brake, i always end up having to use my foot because my brake just doesn't stop me enough...

I have black rims on my bike, does that have anything to do with it
or
do i just need better brakes??

thanks

SPRAY SIMPLE GREEN ON YOUR RIM BEFORE RIDING.oops. Let it dry and your brakes will be simply sticky.
joe cool on a Phaze One
Maybe you need new brakepads...

Chrome rims will help a lot or you can just go brakeless save some weight and keep using that foot!

What kind of brake are you running does your forks have 990 mounts?

ahh, your brakes stink...

chrome rims will help, also sanding down your pads so they are smooth, then mount them so they are perfectly parallel to the rim, NOT TOED in. Many guys still toe in their pads, trust me it doesn't help breaking power.

Put tri flow in your cable and make sure there are not any kinks in it.

Make sure you have the lever adjusted correctly, you need well trued wheels to have good brakes. You should be able to pull the lever all the way and still keep your other fingers on the grip. So from feather to full on should be about a 1/2 inch...

Some brakes just stink, like odyssee 2000 (sorry guys) they were the worst for flex.

Good brakes in order of best to worse (that I have used)

994's
993's
990's
acs boa's
nippons

as far as levers, I use Tech 77's with locking levers.

I've tried a bunch of others but I always go back to them.

If you want to just ride and not mess with your brakes, spray some simple green on the rim by the pad, and then ride down a hill with the brakes on until you hear that trademark squeal.

Then you'll be endoing like crazy.
