that guy from the UK...the second rider...where he does the whiplash, and catches the back peg with his foot and glides no handed.....sickening.

Judas Priest!! I just sat here with my lower jaw in my lap for 15 1/2 minutes.
It's just an opinion, I guess, but I think flatland requires more skills than any other bmx genre. (that comment just reminded me of how BITD we were all just bmx'ers, no matter what you did. Race, flatland, skatepark, dirt jump, all on one bike.
That one Japanese kid had a unique style, throwing in the karate kick and the pose on top of a spinning-on-it's-side bike.
Homie with the long hair, tats, and tighty-whiteys hanging out had good moves too.

That happened so fast, yet it looked so smooth. For Christ's sake, how do you guys keep coming up with this stuff? And each little variation in their routine has a name?!?!? I guess you really have to know what you're looking at to judge this stuff. How do you single out a winner in a bunch of riders of that caliber? Must be tough...

sadly most variations today don't have their own names...

Flatland is now about how to link from one trick to another, with a barspin in the middle.

It is really hard, but it is like any thing else, once you get a trick down, you can do it whenever you want.

The international scene is cool because the style is so different. I too love to watch the Japanese riders, their style is amazing, as they created it with little outside influence.

But, the judging is suspect, because it is so hard to differenciate.

I always thought that flatland would die with my generation. Because it took me so long to get to the pro level, and then lots of the pros that I grew up with are still riding. I figured that todays kids would never be able to catch up.

Then I saw Justin Miller ride.

Wow.
