I have a no name freestile 14mm rear hub that has loose ball bearings one side and appears to have had a sealed bearing on the other side. The sealed bearing is toast, all that is left is one side of the race in the hub, and the other side or the race on the axel. The race on the axel appears to be spot welded to the axel.
1. can I order and replace the 14mm sealed bearing?
2. can I order a new axel with the sealed bearing spot welded to the axel.
3. do I have to order a new hub?

just a dumb bmx racer

For less than the cost of replacement parts you could pick up these, and get the 14mm adapter for the axles if you've gotta have 14mm - DK Hubs on Ebay $17

we have problems with that style hub all the time at the shop.

the race is actually separate from the axle, but tends to get worn into place once the bearing starts to go. it should come off pretty easily with some tapping. the race stuck in the hub shell, though...that can be another story.

"hey, lets use a tiny cartridge that has pin-head size ball bearings in a hub that will get beat into the ground!! that's a great idea!"

my opinion is to get a better designed hub, 'cuz this will just keep happening if you fix the old one.
