Why dont you call Sun Ringle direct. If you dont have a LHS close that doesnt carry there wheelsthey will hook you up factory direct.

dans doesnt have any 24" 48's listed. and i was unaware of the fact that sun sells factory direct.
im pretty sure my only option is going to be a sun BFR, but thought iwould post a question here to see if there were any options i was unaware of

Hey bro here is the link
sun-ringle I got my 48's in 24" from dans but I dont think they offered chrome just black so go to the sun web site and tell them that Dans doesnt offer them in chrome I got a set from them with the sun hubs and they are as buttery smooth as my Phil Wood hubs and I think I got them for somewhere around $145 shipped to my door for a 20" black I think the 24's are the same price but a little more for the chrome. Good luck , Scott

I got my 24" 48 Spoke Sun BFR from site sponsor J&R. $50 shipped and I've been happy with it. It's black, not chrome, but otherwise fits your needs.

Hmm... I used to run 36 hole BFR's on my cruiser. They're pretty darned indestructable as is...not sure you'd need 12 extra spokes. Consider something from the MTB side of the fence...perhaps HALO or Funn rims...I think Atomlab might do 48's too. You can't buy them as a pre-built set, because they'll have MTB width hubs on them. But you can buy the hoops and have them laced.

i would be completely satisfied with 36h rims, if i had 36 spoke hubs lol. however, i have 48 spoke hubs, and so i need a 48 spoke rim or a new wheelset. since i have 14mm dropouts i would need 14mm axles(dont like the idea of adaptors), and frankly i cant afford to build a new custom wheelset seeing as there is really nothing wrong with mine aside from appearance, and im already looking for a 3/8" wheelset for another cruiser with 3/8" dropouts. speaking of which, if anyone has a cheap 3/8" 24" wheelset or singe front or rear wheel, please let me know. color/spoke count doesnt matter.
anyway at first i was thinking about white halo combats for my haro, but im pretty sure i have my heart set out on chrome rims with red anodized nips. im waiting to hear back from someone at Sun. if they tell me its a no go im just going to stick with what i have until money is more abundant, or a break what i have. then just build a new set of wheels if i can find 14mm 36 spoke hubs lol.

Hmmm.... I feel you on the $ thing, and I admire your ability to know when to say when on bike parts. However, if you're buying spokes, nipples, rims, and the labor, you could probably just throw in for 36H hubs, you know? If you're not super picky about matching the front to the rear, you can always find good singles on eBay...I got a Primo pro 36H front in 3/8" for $12, new. A build is a big investment...might as well do it the way you want it.
On the other hand, how f-in' sweet does the white Halo wheelset look?
