Really dig the FIT S3 Mike Aitken signature model in tiffany blue. (Decals sold me after holding a 20.75TT) Anybody ride these and know how well they hold up? Awfully light frame. Dig the color a lot but cannot see finding that shade of blue for tires/brakes/pedals/cranks/grips etc. Could trim her in white?
My misses wants a street/park ride but will not use it much. I want to build it "for her" with my pick of components that will take some park sessions from my fat ***. Great excuse to buy the frame huh?
Any feedback on this bike is appreciated.

I can get 1 here, in stock, for $335. THX though.
Appreciate the help. Looks like a new build to follow!
Now, suggestions on components for a big dude. I go 285# and need some bad *** cranks. I have FSA Smack Daddy now and like them. Are Evolvers the brakes to go with or anyone have better ideas? I would REALLY like to find some blue stuff to match that frame.

I have a FIT series 3 stem and really like it. It holds like a vice and looks pretty cool too. You also mentioned white parts. I just got a email today from my FIT/S&M sales rep about S&M now making white slam bars.

I run an Evolver and it works just fine...Oh and i'm 220. As for cranks I run a set of the Odyssey 41 Thermals and have had no problems. The install can be a pain, but when you get them on they are pretty much maintance free.

Just wondering what sort of forks are people using with the S3? Are Fit going to do an S3 fork or are they sticking with the Flow and S2? I suppose the Pitchforks would be a possibility.
The satin raw would be my choice closely followed by the tiffany blue.

THX guys.
White Slam bars would look Sweeeeeet on that Tiffany blue ride. I do have a new FBM stem that an old friend recently designed 4 them and gave me one of the FBM he had produced. Very tough/very light and I would be honored to have it on my new ride as I had not known of this guys whereabouts for several years. I go into a new LBS and his lil' bro' is spinning wrenches there!
I am just getting back into riding and have no idea what is out there and what is worth looking into. Evolvers are great IMHO but after having a new front put on the STA and getting the lil' box of extra parts I [I tried to cheat the filter]. All the extra springs/cables/screws/set screws etc. Have I mentioned I DO NOT do wrenches/tech stuff? They are tweaked perfectly though. BTW, what is up with the cables on these brakes? Can you run dual cables? (I assume?) And why???
Jarvi, I am thinking about the Odyssey Pro Flatland w/lifetime guarantee. Problem is they are only available in black. White or chrome would rock for the tiffany blue frame.
Satin raw would be a lot easier to pimp out correctly.

bassnbiker I have Odysseys forks on my Fit S2 and the black with black frame was an easy match. The Fit S2 forks didn't come with 990 mounts. Not so easy when you're dealing with colours though.
I know what you mean with the Evolvers. My tech knowledge was limited to MX1000 calipers and when I had to remove and then readjust the front one it was a bit testing. Of course after fiddling around and getting it sorted I then found the instructions... They are a great brake though and worth the hassle.

i just got a set of white slams in today and they look real good. a white set of fly brakes would look hot on the blue S3.

profile cranks..fly brakes.not evovers...they just have a better pull and lock up better..and check out primo for blue products...they have dark blue and babby blue parts..and fly bars. they come in blue and white and have a better and comfterble sweepback..

Glad to see you bump this post Dad.
This is going to happen! I am purchasing frame next weekend. It has been put back.
Not sure when I will start though, too busy now and again, I ain't gots no wrench skillz @ all so I will have it done by a trusted homey.
Anyway, I am going white and chrome for the trim colors. Fiance is excited and has been riding the STA some while I catch my breath. She will be exceeding my progress soon! ( I am soooooo lame .) Just glad to see her getting some interest.

Haven't used the Fly brakes but they sure look good. So do their pedals. Not sure if they are worth the extra cost in terms of usability but probably can be justifed with the looks alone.

No offense, but 285 pounds is a LOT for a sub-five pound frame. If you're going to ride hard, I'd look into something a little tougher.

None taken. Originally (as stated above) I figured that I would end up with this bike when the fiance loses interest. She assures me I can sell it if she does. It is just a cool frame. My fiance is sold on it too so no more explanation needed. Gonna be RAD.
I welcome opinions on what I should build for a big guy. I asked this question before I ever purchased a bike when I found this site. Standard and Brew were mentioned. Standard STA was offered by Dave and @ a steal of a $$ considering the new Smack Daddy cranks, Evolver rear brake and Alex supra E rims. I purchased this bike. THX to all for the sound advice. My STA is an envied ride @ our local park and I am proud to own it. (Thx again Rudnick)
