What is the craziest way you have ever rigged your bike?
This past weekend I was riding trails snappeda a brake cable almost the whole way through and didnt want to stop riding so I made a little splint for it with a stick and some tall grass. Now my bike is one with nature. Oh yeah it actually worked pretty well and I could stop in between jumps when I needed to. Wouldn't try a fufanu like it is though.

I snapped the top 1" of the seat tube off of my miniviper, below the seat clamp but above the top tube. I shifted the seat clamp down 1/2" to act as a splint and continued riding that way for months.

One of my friends popped his front tire, and stuffed it full of pine needles to make it back to the car about 2 miles away. It didn't work very well so he ended up riding a wheelie most of the way.
And he had to throw away the tire and tube as they had so much garbage, and cuts in them that they were useless...
Another time we were crossing the street and my buddies stem snapped off. (one of those ACS slant stems.) He reached down and grabbed the forkstander and rode it home with one hand holding the bars (and cables still attached) other hand steering the forks.
Needless to say it looked pretty funny.
We used to make our own gyro cables with our drill press and tap and die kits as kids, they worked pretty well, and you could make the cables way shorter so you didn't trip over them on barhops.

ha. i cut a broom handle down for a seat post a few months ago. crazy glued some soda can strips to it for shims, rode it for 3 days until i snapped the chain. lol

It's not that crazy but I snapped a straddle cable one time and rigged a new one up out of a piece of wire. I took a few wraps around one brake arm then the other and then attached it to straddle cable holder-thingy (what do you call that thing?) and finished out a trails session. They worked pretty well unless you really tried to yank on them then it would slip.
Another time I broke my chain on a disaster at the skatepark. We had a mini ramp with a spine and some extensions and a box jump out. I rode for another full hour without a chain and didn't really skip a beat. That was one of the funnest sessions I've ever had. Rollbacks on abubacas were nice!
I rode home 3 miles in a steamroller position once after blowing up my back wheel.
