JIMBO420
Are you gonna enter Brian?
Brian P
if they decided to have an oldschool class, probly.

last time i rode at mullaly was back in 97 or 98
JIMBO420
I think I am going to. Im gonna go there on sat's. and get used to the winds again.
During the week I will hit up my local "HOODWARD",THAts an abandoned warehouse with a street park in it.
I will still enter as a beginner though.(dont want to embarass myself too much) lol
jesboogie
I am a mullaly OG. Rode there back in 89 when there were only 2 ramps. New ramps or old ones half burnt and full of holes, Mullally pwns you. That place is my history. I am buying my flight this week and will be entering expert. I am sure if a few old heads besides me show up, we can make a masters class (NER? PW4130? Hand Grenade? Brian P?. If you are in the area and miss this event, you will suck hard. Good times,

Tenth Anniversary King of New Yorkâ„¢ BMX Freestyle competition at Mullaly Ramp Park in the Bronx on July 29, 2006.

Check out the latest info online at: www.kingofnewyorkbmx.com

Bronx, NY – June 5, 2006 - The tenth anniversary of the premier Pro/Am BMX Freestyle Competition in New York City, The King of New York™ (www.kingofnewyorkbmx.com) - one of the longest running bicycle stunt competitions in the world and the only one of its kind in New York City - will be thrown on July 29, 2006. The venue chosen to host this milestone of an event will be where it all started, the hottest NYC ramp park, Mullaly Park in the Bronx. Easily accessed by numerous forms of transportation and located at 164th Street between Jerome and River Avenues in the Bronx, Mullaly is just three blocks up the street from that “other” famed, historic landmark, Yankee Stadium.

All of the previous King of New York champions will be in attendance to celebrate and compete, including Dave “Littleman” Garcia, KoNY 1996-1999; Lou Perez, KoNY 2000; Jorge Jovel, KoNY 2001 and 2002; and the reigning King of New York, Hector “Terremoto” Restrepo, KoNY 2003 and 2004. Featuring Professional and Amateur Park disciplines, the best riders in the tri-state area and beyond will be treated to the ramp additions built courtesy of creative genius and renowned X Games and Woodward Camp ramp designer Nate Wessel.

There will be a $3000 pro purse paying to 10th Place. Pro entry fee is only $50. Beginner and Expert entry is free but with limited spots available so sign up quickly. Top ams will win a one-week scholarship to Woodward Camp plus great product from our sponsors. King of New York sponsors are Scion, Home Depot, Pony Malta, Maxxis, Woodward Sports Camp, Bell Helmets, and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Associate sponsors are Redbull, FreeCycle Action Sports Team, Pyramid Shoes, BMX Invasion, S&M Bikes, Revenge Industries, Fit Bikes, Tree Bicycle Company, Hoffman Bikes, and Group Home Bikes. DJ Supertremendous will be spinning and there will be free drinks and free giveaways all day.

To pre-register for the event, and for directions and other pertinent info go to the Official King of New York Contest Website, www.kingofnewyorkbmx.com or send an e-mail to info@kingofnewyorkbmx.com

Highlighted throughout the past 17 years by media such as Ride BMX, Bikini, and GO magazines, ESPN’s X-2day, and in music videos from Thalia and Fat Joe, Mullaly Ramp Park was created in May 1989 and was the only ramp park available to BMX Freestyle riders in the five boroughs for almost ten years. Always representing the most insane riding by the best NYC has to offer, and attracting entrants and spectators from all over the globe, King of New York contest craziness in the past has included performances by live DJs, raving lunatic wrestlers in leather masks, and NYC’s own Sick Of It All.

Lou Perez, founder of the King of New York, says proudly, “I remember the time we had wrestling and “Rambo” jumped off the roof. The time “Yellow” hitchhiked from Colorado only to spear himself in the chest on our just finished handrail. The time Sick of It All played for free. The time I won. Every King of New York was awesome. If you were ever there, I don’t need to say anything else. If you only heard about it, you need to see for yourself. The best underground riders, the best times, the only ramp park of true New Yorkers. King of New York 2006.”
