Announcing :
"The VICTORIAN OLDSCHOOL BMX FESTIVAL"
That way, we vics dont have to travel heehehehe.
Yeh, the travelling show could coincide with Aus titles, but would we have a hassle trying to find space with all the interstate visitors and OFFICIALS who wont let us do squat without prior permits/forms/etc???
We'd need a person in each state to do major groundwork on all our behalf, i dont wanna cruise interstate to find out i cant setup my stuff ;-(
VIC Boys :
How does November sound for VIC shows?
Maybe the weekend before/after Melbourne cupday (so we dont have people going to the races instead of our show).
Good time of year, and everyoine is still in town before buzzing off for xmas etc etc......
Anyone? ideas? thoughts?
MCG Carpark on Finals day ???? hehehehe

Adelaide eh? Time to start planning people, this could be the innaugural meet!
My suggestion is call it the "BMX NATS"
(since it moves around)
I will be a 80% chance to attend, providing there will be more than a dozen people there

I just got back from riding. I remember the shananigans that go on in races
3 out of 4 races, I get taken out by some dropkick that has no idea. Last race I nearly landed on top of the guy! He decides to take the stepup jump at a 45% angle. Oh well. It's all in fun I guess. I'm just so damn competitive.

Has everyone seen this from Shane over at BMXultra.com? I know it's not necessarily old school, but thought you guys may be interested...
quote:
19/07 BMXUltra.com's backyard race to go ahead
by BMXUltra.com
We put out the feelers to see if there would be enough interest to run a backyard race that's "one-on-on sprint trails" style. It will be held on Wednesday January 25, on an off day during the Track Attack series held in Melbourne. We had a good response so far from riders which included the likes of Wade Bootes, Glenn Codega, Tony Harvey and more. There are still a lot of pros out there that we know read the site who haven't expressed their interest. We expect more that 40 pro riders will try to qualify for a position in the challenge (limited to 32).
There will be a minimum of $1000 in prize money running a $30 entry fee per rider, if we get enough sponsorship we may be able to decrease or maybe even drop the entry fee. The prize money breakdown will be $400, $300, $200 and $100 for first to fourth place only.
Dirt Designs will be providing special number plates specifically for the event, at the end of the event the plates will be signed by the riders and auctioned off. The money raised from the sale of the number plates will then be donated to the Royal Children's Hospital.
The track is coming along slowly during these winter months. We now have the first two split corners done with two more and two more straights to build. The second straight has been widened to cope with two riders side by side. However there is still a lot to do. We are trying to chase up sponsorship to help cover the costs of truck hire to move the unlimited supply of dirt that we have access to so we can complete the track to a level that will be exciting for competitors and spectators. We also have race day expenses to cover like portable toilets and public liability for the event. At this point the event is currently to be run completely independantly of any BMX governing body, we will let you know if that changes.
If you are interested in sponsoring or able to help in anyway with the track or the event please email webmaster@bmxultra.com to let us know.
The backyard race (actual name to be announced soon) is proudly supported by BMXUltra.com, Dirt Designs, and Cyclelink.com.au.

Hey guys,
Is anyone interested in some dia-compe 901 silver calipers and tech 4 levers (nos).
I need just a caliper but the only ones that I am comming up with are in a kit, so I thought that if anyone else is looking for some levers and a caliper then this might work out.
So basicly up for grabs is a caliper and a left and right lever and cables.
I am so close to finishing my first build I can smell it. Cant wait to share with everyone.
Cheers
