QuicksilverBMX
It will probably go for a good price as Quicksilvers are in demand. I sold 2 as I didnt need 3 and they both went for good money.

Ok, last post for the night. My original race plate from 1982 . . . #22 was my Dad's old basketball number when he was in high school and he convinced me to use it. I used to cut out the logos from my BMX mags in place of decals.

Martin
www.martin-bike.com
Oh man, I haven't even shown you guys all the number plates yet. That is definitely the biggest part of my collection.

Did I ever mention that I LOVE number plates.
bullyhotrod86jh
hmm i've got an oddysey number plate it's a biggish rectangular one do you know anything about it's age, and any other details about it by any chance?

Love those profile cranks of yours Martin, could you now show your number plate collection? You probably have cam plates, correct. Keep it coming.
bennyg
O.K guys here is the address for homebush on Saturday see you guys there from 10:00am. Hopefully the track isn't to wet. If it is still raining tomorrow morning at 8:00am I'll be a no show. Hopefully tomorrows weather will be as good as todays.

MORE STUFF PLEASE!!!!

Here's some VX cranks for you (175mm)...

bennyg
Andy nice cherry looking vx cranks how about posting the kuwahara as well? How is that Patterson frame & forks of yours going, have you built it up as yet?
Dirtboy
So, hands up whose going to homebush????

sorry bennyg, saturday is out for me.... morning soccer and arvo racing....same with MB i think.

Sunday arvo i can go, but why choose the mtb track? wouldn't it be better to meet in the main drag near monster....it's so much better there than way out at the mtb track.

Bruce
bennyg
Hey Bruce, I was also thinking of catching up with you guys on Saturday afternoon, thought I'd take the family to watch the racing.
How many tracks are out at Homebush? JB mentioned Homebush I just assumed it was the MTB track. Do you know which one JB goes to all the time. If you do please advise & pass on the details. Post the address could you.
AndyDiamond
Kuwi:

Yes. The Patty is 99% done - haven't had a chance to take pics yet
bennyg
Nice Kuwa Andy, looks like nos or did you do the restoration job yourself or buy the Kuwahara as is? This would have to be one of the nicest Kuwahara's I've seen. Good Job.
As soon as you finish that Patterson post a pic straight away, I love those Pattersons.
AndyDiamond
Most of the parts are NOS.

The frame and fork came with the cranks, headset and seat clamp.

From what I can work out this frame set was one of the first imported into the US and the paint is OG (it hasn't been repainted).

It also has weird custom made gold decals that may have been put on by the bike shop at the time.

Apparently the late Sandy Finkleman may have had it in his shop (Wheels N Things) and it was owned by Jeff Hainey and Darren Chan respectively (before I got it off Darren).

PS: the Patty will blow your socks off!
Dirtboy
PM sent ben.

yeah, come on down to the castle hill clubby saturday arvo. i'm there from 2.30, MB will be there (won't you matty ) Martin, you should come along too! all are welcome, bring your os machine to show it off

as for homebush....i would expect that everyone wants to get together, show off some hardware and BS a bit and the best place to do that is in the centre of the village....no point in going to an mtb track in the middle of nowhere with your OS machine.

Who really wants to ride their OS bike anyway??

I'd rather meet up for a coffee or beer and just look at some chrome and BS for a while. any ideas anyone?

i propose, meet at the park opposite Monster skate (where the olympic "torch" is) around 3pm Sunday for an hour or 2. i'll bring 3-4 OS bikes to show off. Martin, i can take 2 of yours as well. Matty your in. Bennyg? luis? who else???????
bennyg
No worries Dirtbody I'm in. Your proposal sounds good, Saturday is off & Sunday afternoon is on at 3pm. Bring your bikes, I'll bring 3 bikes & a camera.
bennyg
Nice story behind the Kuwa Andy. Could you explain the initials OG. What do the letters O & G stand for?
I'll take a few pics of my Patterson on Sunday afternoon & post them on Monday.
dugga
it's an abbreviation for original - or could be olfactory gratification, not sure which
AndyDiamond
Sweet Benny!

yeah - 'og' - basically means original.
www.martin-bike.com
Awesome Kuwahara Andy. Another excellent build!

Bruce, I'll be there on Sunday.

Here are Greg Grubbs' actual Redline Stu bars from 1982. They are going on my Greg Grubbs "Grubber" replica build.

Who knows, maybe they are the actual bars from the December 1982 cover shot???

Martin
Dirtboy
The "grubber" replica will be awesome Martin. looking forward to that build!!
Dirtboy
Cool, Sunday arvo it is. So far it's Bennyg, Martin-Bike, Mattblack and I.....that's about 10 plus OS bikes
Any other Sydney siders going to join in?
Mattblack
I'll be there on Sunday arvo
I'll be at the track on Sat aswell.
bennyg
Martin when are you going to start building the rest of your bikes? The Grubber replica will be cool. I hope you take 8-10 weeks off at Christmas time buddy to build them all.
www.martin-bike.com
Nearly 3am and still working on the stash - too much fun!!!

Benny, much building has been going on thanks especially to Bruce's help. Now that I have a very well organised and secure location for my gear, building can continue in ernest.

What has been holding me up is a good photographer. I have now secured the services of one of the best bike photographers in the world. He is currently building his new studio so first shoot will happen when I'm in town next - Christmas.

I have some killer builds that will be rolling out around that time and you guys will definitely be the first I wil share them with. This has been 4 years in the making.

As for 8-10 weeks, I wish! I've estimated 5 years to complete this effort . . . from now. It may have been different if I still lived in Australia.

Martin
www.martin-bike.com
That's 5 years if I stop accumulating any more builds. Not likely. LOL
KOSY-MOTO
Yo AndyDiamond nice Kiwi-Kuwi.. pin sharp just the way I love it..

Sorry Sydney homies.. I working this weekend no show
Kurt.
Hey fellas,

Did any of you guys have trouble getting your avatar to work? Mine is 48 x 48 pixels and less than 10kb. When I hit the "set this URL" button the avatar shows, but when I hit "select this avatar" button, the window shuts down, takes the "parent" window with it and I end up with no avatar.

Really giving me the sh ! ts!! Any help much appreciated.
velocidad
Kurt i think you have you have to have a certain amount of posts before admin lets you have an avatar... 150 maybe?
COASTY

Nice one! Every bike deserves a number plate.
bennyg
I love that wall of F&Fs Martin but I'm giving you 12 months off work to complete your builds, 5 years is to long buddy.

Broke 10 out of 10 mate for that Torker its really torquing it up.

Ok Benny, I'm gonna try.

Gunning for 6-8 this Christmas.
HowardinOz
Hi guys...been a while!
I've been lurking but forgot my login, and to be honest didn't have much worth sharing.
Nice bikes all!
Went past Altona BMX track today. Going through a MAJOR overhaul.
Track has been ruined for anyone but those who like getting massive air.
Not much bloody good to a 6 and 8 year old!!!
Shame. My Son keeps asking, "why did they have to go and do that Dad?".
I reckon I'd have trouble just getting to the top of some of those mounds. Around 15 jumps I reckon and all about 6-8ft high and almost straight up and down. Same as the track OZZY posted pic's of a while back!
Local gov't/council must be spending a bomb on the 'upgrade' (more like ruination).
OZZYBMX
hey howard , ive been lurking/learning too !!!

lurkers should be seen and not heard
HowardinOz
My latest resto!

COASTY
Nice work Howard. Tuffs are lookin great. I'm still battling with the boys about forks. I've given up now.
OZZYBMX
wow , nice mate .... see what you can accomplish when you spend mord time "doing" than sitting on the puter "talking"

man , that looks like a brand new tuff !!!
OZZYBMX
hey coast , everyone is FORKED OFF !!!!!
Mr.BMX
So Howie, gonna share with people how you restored your Tuff? didya follow other methods? makeup your ownb? discover a new super chemical? other?
