Thanks coastvl! ....would you believe i parked my bike nicely against a tree to get the misses and i a coffee. she doesn't like the spot i picked so moves the bikes and leans them against a small concrete garden ......not even an hour into it's 1st resto ride and it's scratched as @#%@
yeah velocidad, thanks. my little boy is a natural on the bike.....he just doesn't want to race he loves riding in the mud and through puddles tho

My views on Mt F'ing Druit are similar to CoastVL's , its a place to avoid , but if you go in there , you go in properly tooled up , to deal with the local vermin.
Terrigal by the beach sounds much more pleasant

If only I had more money Chris, That PK would be sold!
Thanks to Lewis and Jas, my thrasher from bitd is finally complete. The DX post being the hardest part to find in good condition. If I was to get technical, a few things would be changed. Front tire should be either a comp 3 or IRC. Grips should be black and the brake pads should be old style Tuff pads. But you get that.

Nice Goose coast - is that pretty much how she was BITD? What's the story with the original components that used to be on her - did they disappear/get stolen over the years mate?
COASTY
Jul 17 2006, 04:21 AM
I am not sure about the DX post. I think I busted the top clamp. The grips and tires just died with age. Pedals are not the originals either but are the same as what I had. I changed bits on a weekly basis. Either due to breakages or new parts at the shop that I liked. I upgraded all my bikes with newer bits very often. The tire on the back is the original tire of my sisters bike. It was a good freestyle tire in 1980! Oh and the TRX forks are the second pair I have tried on as the originals were bent. (hence the Bottemas on my supergoose)

Heres the bike in question with different parts again. I still have most of the bits on the bike in this pic too. In the first pic the bars are nickel Redline V-bars too!

Woah Glenn - I don't reckon there's a lot of people who have busted a set of TRXs - you must have been pretty rad - I've still got one set I bought new in 1981 that are on their third frame!

Yeah I busted a LOT of parts. My Supergoose is a bike thats ALMOST indestructable. I only use Tuffs because alloys never stood a chance. On my PK they were ok. But then I got graphites for that too.
I don't think I was too wild, just rough on landings.

The Quicksilver team in Tassie has an old Transit van painted up with the logo along the side. I'll try and hunt down a picture next month when I'm back home. I guess the modern day equivalent is Wade Bootes and his VW van.
