I only looked to find out the name of the meet! I knew the rest though.
They had the best jumping contests at lunchtime at Minto. That 3rd turn was a pain though. Flat turns suck.

later in the life of the track they had a inside run on that third turn with a single woop in it so you could either run wide and go around the flat turn or cut it tight and take the single woop. I remember the table top at the end of that run before turn 4 it seemed huge to me BITD. I slipped the pedal going over it one day and came down on the seat of my old MX and bent it in half, man that hurt my ego with all the lads laughing at me. However it did spell the end of the MX and not long after i got my first real BMX a Raleigh Burner with Tuff 2's.

Yeah that tabletop was a great jump. Lunchtime was the best part of the day for me. Very cool track.

No Dirtboy, Coastvl had the drool in the right place. I remember she came down to Tassie for a big meeting and was billeted with a friend of mine. Well really his sister 'cause for some reason girls were matched with girls and boys with boys. Go figure.
Don't remember Kelly Coles but if you say she's better then she must have been nice.

jees i must be a bit younger than you guys. Back in 82 i couldnt care less about the chicks i just wanted to build jumps out of old fence posts and milk crates or dig out the side of an embankment to gain the most air i could. Needless to say the old raleigh burner didnt last long but the tuffs are still going.

Yeah his shop is still on the market, ive often thought of taking that career change myself, who knows i might, There is a large car park area out the back that would do well for a old school gathering and its not far from Terigal Track ((about 15min) and if the gathering at Terigal doesnt work out the best) or even closer there are some good skate parks.

re: my previous photo's posted....
Tim was a close riding buddy bitd, and a real rad nutcase on a bike heheheheehe.
( i caught up with Tim a few times in recent years at various races).
All pics were taken by me, and back then we only had a '110' pocket camera to use.
There's very few pics of me, and most pics of me always came out blurry or framed wrong, because my folks or friends had no idea about cameras hehehehe.

Re the photos, I wonder how many there are around the world with a headless rider? I've seen a few on here. I missed a whole day's racing worth of photos because Mum's friend forgot to put film in the camera. Guess she had no idea about cameras either.

hey Dirtboy superpics back there - are they from the family photo album??
Marty I'm still looking for the dude on a bmx with a ponytail?? cool footage, your lucky to have it.
Mr.BMX
Jul 10 2006, 03:59 AM
hehehehe, yeh, a LONG time before the ponytail grew hehehehe....damn militant parents... ;-)
As for my footage, it was an uncles 8mm movie cam we borrowed over a few weeks.
Dad filmed a few motos of mine at Eram park (box hill, the holeshot footage) plus a moto at waverly and bayside.
Then a mate filmed my street tricks, and a few laps at the local track jumping etc......
It's only about 5mins footage all up, but stoked to have it....

Nice video Marty....i found about 20 reels of my brothers and i 80 - 83 a couple weeks back. Set up the show with pop corn and all for the kids the other week and the damn hanimex machine wouldn't work......got my eye out for a Eumig atm

Jul 11 2006, 06:04 AM
Eumig Super 8 film projectors can be a _REAL_ hassle to figure out how to thread the film thru them without the correct models instruction book with it.
Be warned you may find yourself with a useless projector unless it has the instructions when buying an olde Umig.
Not too sure if I still have any super 8 projectors here anymore.....I know I haven't got that damm Umig anymore.
