I need wheels, brakes, seat post, I'll probably get a fluted gold one. I have mcs foot jaws for it and I also have a suntour post clamp.
I'm leaving the cranks that way 'cause I'm gonna ride it backwards:-)

I'm leaving the cranks that way 'cause I'm gonna ride it backwards:-)
Does that mean the seat post will have to fit the headset and your goose neck will need to fit your your seat post hole should be interesting to steer......... :0)

nice torker should look great when it's finished
Jun 7 2006, 06:08 AM
Channel 31, 10:30pm. Chosen Line.
Jun 7 2006, 09:58 AM
Your Torker looks sick! Well done. Make sure you post progress and completed pics.
I'm doing one myself at the moment - black and gold on chrome. Luckily I sourced some black Torker pads from some pals in Hongkers cheap last year. Those pad sets have been hitting USD $250 in recent months.
Jun 7 2006, 02:16 PM
Very nice Torker there mate. Is the frame & fork NOS or have you restored it? Looks like you've got enough pads there to do a few more Torkers too!
Your stem arrived last week - I'm very impressed with it - thanks mate.
Jun 7 2006, 03:17 PM
Broke - candy red Torker with gold parts - NICE!
That bag of Torker pads you have is worth a small fortune - lol
Jun 7 2006, 03:54 PM
I bought the frame recently from ebay, it has been powdered candy red. the photos don't do it justice the color is amazing. the stickers are repro from a guy in the states and the pads I collect I guess that's what finnishes of a bike, decals & pads. I will be sure to post the progress
now time to buy more bits!!
Jun 7 2006, 03:59 PM
hey martin send pics I want to see it. where do you live I want to make sure TORKERS are properly represented at the next anual old scool gathering.
Jun 7 2006, 07:18 PM
who was looking for the bites to hold bars on a MONO shocker bike.?????? i have a set here for you..
Jun 7 2006, 07:20 PM
CoastVL was after some Chris.
Jun 7 2006, 07:31 PM
Glad you liked the stem.
I live in Hong Kong but visit Sydney at least twice a year. I'll be back in Sep/Oct to start shooting my collection with a professional mountain bike photographer.
No photos of the Torker as yet - it's in pieces right now. But here's another of my bikes with a bit of gold . . .
Jun 7 2006, 08:51 PM
Love the quad martin.....black and gold always looks classy. How do you store your bikes? In a dust proof, humidity / temp controlled room? They look so clean and perfect - you must really look after them.
Jun 7 2006, 09:12 PM
I treat and handle my stuff better than I would a new born baby.
My stash has travelled the world. At one stage it was in 5 locations in 4 countries. They are all in one safe and secure location now. Not temperature controlled but safe nonetheless.
Not sure if you caught my 1982 Redline Proline previously but I'm seriously excited about it. The candy apple red is exactly matched to the original Redline colours. The paint is gorgeous in real life . . .
Now that I've finally found a world class photographer, it will soon be time to unleash a whole bunch of bikes you guys haven't seen yet.
Jun 7 2006, 09:20 PM
Love your work, yes more pics please... keep them coming
Jun 7 2006, 09:32 PM
sweeeeeeet bikes martin
Jun 7 2006, 09:41 PM
Ok, here's a preview of another one I'm very excited about. I've finally sourced some clear backed decals for it - that's how I remember it but still researching. Also trying to source more Profile components but you can get the general drift of things . . .
This next one isn't mine but I'm making a Phase 1 very close to it . . .
My actual set . . . going on a Hutch of course . . .
My recent Patterson arrival . . .
1983 GT Pro . . .
Jun 7 2006, 09:49 PM
Ok, while we're at it. I only get to do this every few months.
1984 Skyway TA . . .
1984 JMC Shadow
1982 Supergoose (unfinished)
Ok not vintage but . . . my mountain bike
Going to have to save some surprises. Lots of stuff being or has already been preped. Next stage is building and shooting . . .
Jun 7 2006, 10:58 PM
Martin - that Patterson looks bling!
The rechrome sure makes it look NOS.
My only critism of your builds is that the numbers on your plates are too damn far apart from each other - lol
Hey Broke - did you get that Torker from Chris Baron?
Jun 7 2006, 11:14 PM
Hey andy, yep I sure did.
Jun 7 2006, 11:44 PM
Ok, here are some builds in prep mode . . .
Candy Red PK
Another baby blue Floval but later and this time with Black flanged 24" Tuffs
Jun 8 2006, 12:38 AM
OK, there's the junk ^^^...now where's the good stuff? he heh heh - only joking - love them all. You mustn't have a wife and kids. I'd have that many bikes too if I could get away with it
Jun 8 2006, 12:54 AM
Love them all Martin. Lookin forward to some more builds. How do you get them around the world?
Jun 8 2006, 01:06 AM
Lol . . . you're right . . . I'm free and single and have an obsessive compulsive personality. In this game, that's dangerous. Luckily I have other hobbies to distract me or I'd really be out of control . . .
I sourced this stuff from everywhere and I moved around a bit in recent years. I also have a sister who lives in California. I started sending my stuff to her in the beginning but she absolutely freaked at the shear volume arriving there almost daily. Needless to say I can only get her to help me out on odd occassions as a last resort.
Jun 8 2006, 01:19 AM
Did I mention I like number plates . . .
This is one part of the collection that never stops growing.
Jun 8 2006, 02:13 AM
your bikes are ok Martin, but not as good as this...
Anyone want it? free to a good home....16 inch loop cross rider tuffy.
if you look at it sideways for 17 min and 37 sec it looks kinda like a hutch.....your kids will love it
Jun 8 2006, 02:24 AM
come on V'dad you know you want it, you'd have twins!!!!!!! nice buy on my plate by the way. I had already invoiced you before I knew who it was.
Jun 8 2006, 02:34 AM
How can anybody resist that glowing description? She looks like a keeper.
Jun 8 2006, 02:38 AM
mmmm, well I ain't on a "hutch" budget...
Jun 8 2006, 02:40 AM
Did I miss out on a number plate???
Jun 8 2006, 02:43 AM
seriously dirtboy - if your gonna toss it, peel the CR badge off first will you? I think I know someone who could use it.
Jun 8 2006, 03:07 AM
Hey martin bike niiiiiicccceee collection. Looks like one of Chris's bikes that Patterson. If it is I now know who out bid me. Well done with your bikes & keep up the great collection. Cheers
Jun 8 2006, 03:15 AM
Yep, it's me - that is Chris Baron's old Patterson. Seems alot of his frame sets went to OZ, NZ or the UK.
Jun 8 2006, 04:14 AM
Martin bike you wouldn't happen to have a national pro would you & pictures of it?
Jun 8 2006, 04:36 AM
I love the CR tuffy, my first BMX was a CR comet - you can keep your aerospeeds and flight cranks - cotter pins rule!
Jun 8 2006, 04:40 AM
Hey Ben, no . . . not yet anyway but it's on the list . . .
Jun 8 2006, 04:48 AM

Hey Martin! It is an 85!
Jun 8 2006, 05:26 AM

Jun 8 2006, 05:46 AM
Sorry Martin, I just read it again...you were out by then, durrrr..
