Here are the TX500 forks (yellow forks are TX1200).
Also have a set of NOS chrome TRX forks but I think I'll hold onto those for a bit. [ May 22, 2006, 02:42 AM: Message edited by: AndyDiamond ]

Thanks to mark I just scored this. Some one please tell me about those cranks. Are they or aren't they? For $80 I couldn't pass it up. My first new school bike!
May 22 2006, 04:10 AM
the tuffs are on ebay now
May 22 2006, 04:32 AM
Hey Aussie guys, have any of you bought Johnny Chopper's repro Skyway bars or seat posts?
What are they like?
Since it's impossible to find 14" or 16" seatposts around his ones would be perfect.
May 22 2006, 04:45 AM
I'm pretty sure Anthony (v8 ute) has some bars. Seat posts will be good. I'm after a few of them myself.
May 22 2006, 05:11 AM
check this out!
It's a CU92 MOSH by Giant. Nice score pal!
May 22 2006, 05:19 AM
Mmm that looks cool. I know absolutely nothing about new stuff. I take it mosh are ok then? It looks pretty good. I only got it for the cranks. The rest will be parted out.
May 22 2006, 07:59 AM
yea there not to bad im pretty sure it has a 6061 alloy frame maybe put some cheaper cranks in it maybe fit up a brake and try and sell it down the local track on race night maybe.
and ive got tx500s on it, there the ones with the bad chrome, but unless you have some in chrome or blue i think i might just paint one of them up, tx500's would they be the right fork for a 1980 mongoose thats the ones it had. also with the dx pedal end caps would just a normal welgo or similair one fit as i dont have one of them on the dx's.
May 22 2006, 06:17 PM
just waiting on a "johnny chopper post" 20.6mm , if all goes good with the tools .
May 22 2006, 09:12 PM
Previews are something I don't usually like doing but I'm just too excited about this one.
1982 Redline Proline in the most amazing colour matched candy apple red I've ever seen. Cal-Lite velcro pads, NOS Haro Series One plate (did I ever mention I love number plates!), Redline Brute stem, rechromed Redline Pro v-bars, authentic white border Redline decals (not the incorrect Redline repros). Will save the rest of the spec once the photos are done . . . it will be killer:

Very very VERY nice.. wanna do a photo shoot on one of your finished builds this afternoon Martino?
May 22 2006, 09:30 PM
Thanks. Did you say you has a studio at home??? Can I come over to check it out? I'm going to be testing this guy out maybe:http://www.chrisherron.com/
However, if you're interested in some extra cash and you have the right equipment for the quality I'm after, it's yours.
Can't actually shoot this afternoon though.
May 22 2006, 09:56 PM
like I have said before (last year post) you dont have to shoot a bike "for example" in a studio to make it look great.. to me studio's are the simple way out and don't really show the subject in it's right environment.
OsamaIE aka BikeBoyOsamie hehehe.. I might change my username again.. lol..
May 22 2006, 10:17 PM
Yes, you don't have to shoot in a studio to make a bike look great - agree.
However, I think it enhances the bike when nothing else can take away from the shot - nothing else is there to distract your view. It's just you and the bike in all it's purity.

That Proline looks beautiful! Looks like you will have another class build up soon!
Andy has lent me the Jox/Jag DVD's to check out. They're awesome! I dislocated my shoulder yesterday, after taking my GT24 down to the track. I just cleared the triples, but washed out on the landing, and bit it big time.....
Ok, so really, I slipped over at my son's soccer practice, and spent the night in pain. Luckily it popped back after they gave me plenty of painkillers. I've now got two weeks off work, so I will be wearing out my internet connection.
I've been told dislocated shoulders were painful, but I had no idea
May 23 2006, 12:43 AM
Yeah, those kids soccer fields can be really dangerous Mike! Hope you recover quickly.
May 23 2006, 12:55 AM

Very nice Martin. Two of my favourite BMX things, Redline Brute stems and Haro series one number plates.
May 23 2006, 02:17 AM
Got some awesome Suntour Superbe hubs to go with this build - same ones the Redline team ran. Want to put chrome rims on it but want it to be era correct for 82. Does anybody know for sure what chrome rims were around in 82? I don't think chrome 7Xs came out until 83.
May 23 2006, 02:38 AM

May 23 2006, 03:10 AM

May 23 2006, 03:17 AM

May 23 2006, 04:18 AM
that mini ripper you have, I'm guessing the stickers are original so do they look like cut down PK stickers.
I always thought there was a mini ripper that had stickers saying 'MINI RIPPER'. I want to do a retro on the mini I have coming and am in need of OS stickers.
May 23 2006, 04:19 AM
That Proline is the s#!t Martin!! Can't wait 4 the final product... Do you guy's get really frustrated when you only need 1 thing done to finish a build then get really bored and take stuipid picks of it in unfinished condition?? Like this 4 example.. May 23 2006, 04:23 AM
Howard your sort of right - i know the early 90's mini rippers had "Mini Ripper" on the downtube, a mate has one still orig.
May 23 2006, 04:25 AM
Cool pic Scotty!
What's the one thing???
Gun-Ho-Howie (this is alot harder to type than Howard...Luis)
May 23 2006, 04:26 AM
Mark, can you please try and get a pic?
May 23 2006, 04:32 AM
Here's an example of a Mini Ripper
May 23 2006, 04:45 AM
Thanks Jarvi, that's how I remembered them.
May 23 2006, 04:48 AM
Somebody mention stupid photos?
Until I started back into this I had the bare minimum of tools so when I saw these at a good price I snapped them up and they arrived today.
May 23 2006, 04:49 AM
YO Gun-ho-Howie.. that mini ripper
[quote] Here's an example of a Mini Ripper [quote] is not the real deal those decals are repro.. if you recall back in the early 80's they ran "ripper" only.. shame I dont have any BMX mags to quote 100% maybe someone can dig out the real deal photos from back in the days..
OH Howie did you catch up with the other Gun_hoo?? hehehe you know who I mean? hehehe
May 23 2006, 04:52 AM
James i ain't no SE expert by a long shot but those decals look wrong. I think the font looks too big and the quotation marks aren't inverted the right way. what do you reckon?
May 23 2006, 04:54 AM
stop been a tool... hehehe............ LOL.. get it?
May 23 2006, 04:58 AM
I can't vouch for them. I just did a quick search and I knew that the site has plenty of photos. Heck I didn't even know about the minis at the time. We only had one guy riding a proper mini at our track and all the other youngsters just rode normal sized bikes. Happy to be corrected.
Still, it's a great looking bike. Can't beat a polished ripper.
May 23 2006, 05:01 AM
I agree that "mini ripper' looks D_:)_P_E
May 23 2006, 05:15 AM
quote:Yep I walked into that one.
stop been a tool
May 23 2006, 07:16 AM
lol@Jarvie.. I'm glad you have a sense of humour
May 23 2006, 04:44 PM
I just need the 2 large allen keys bolts that hold on 401 single pinch cranks.... It seems that they changed them on the new 1's
May 23 2006, 05:17 PM
Scotty mine cost me a buck fifty each in ss. lmk!
