Howard
COASTY
Yes Howard, I just saw that a while ago. It always happens. Someone sells something i already have with all the bits I need on it.
I need those bar risers and the forks are better than mine too. I have springs and I have a set of NOS Ashtabula schwinn forks also.
Those bar risers are a BIt ch to find. Even in motorbike wreckers. I should get someone to grab it for me. My dad can look after it.
www.martin-bike.com
I'll grab it for you if you like Glenn . . .

I happen to be flying into Sydney for a week from Saturday morning onward. I'll keep the frame as is.

Let me know. Will be out and about tomorrow so best to sms: +852-6497-3611

Find out where the guy lives.

Those bikes (& other stuff) that look like real bargains @ Cash Converter's can often be misleading Osamaie
First time you posted a picture of that "diamond back" I thought there was something generally "odd" about it , are you still going to build it up as a DB ?

Matt got out the angle grinder & cut down a 20 inch bike to 16 inch pit bike size when we found out that the bike we bought with Redline stickers on it was really an XL/Pro sized Hutch. <heh>

My brother can be an angry man at times , adjusting steering head angles by on Pattersons by levering Bottema forks against the frame is a not normally his style ,I had to cut off power to the entire zone his house was in to stop him from cutting the Patterson down because it had Redline stickers on it when he bought it too

Bring the Patterson down & I'll put on a pair of NOS yellow Bottema rub on stickers onto them forks. They should match in with the bikes colour scheme of the Patterson nicely.I was fortunate enough to get a large pile of assorted NOS stickers & rubon's that Jeff Bottema found in his storage shed a while back

Coast do you need any of the decorative non rub on Bottema stickers to slap onto your 'goose , I got a few to spare , in assorted styles & colours.....

JB
KOSY-MOTO

Them bicycle thieves are now stealing bikes even before you get a chance to buy them......

JB: Yeah thats a classic.. stoning and striping.. that Yank dude is a classic.. he is also selling a Dato Carbie..lol..

Hey Osamaie,

The black chrome isn't the same on mine mate - mine was originally painted white. Now repainted a purpley colour. Stickers long gone. I bought it as an unknown 24 f&f on Ebay last year and asked some questions on here. Any frame can be black chromed though.

The things that give it away as a Repco Hotfoot are the rear dropouts with the little triangle cutouts (common and exclusively Taiwanese dropouts) and at the steering head there are little Redline style gussets, except they also have a little rounded cutout on the top corner. 4" steering head. The forks have a slash cut bottom and 4 holes in each front dropout. If you look at the rear dropouts one side will have a serial number and the other will have a date code which is in the format G0686 (which means June 86). Yours would probably be somewhere between 84 and 86 too I reckon. The Repco Hotfoot is the only frame and fork I have ever seen with this combination of features. None of the Americans know anything about them - which rules out DB to my mind.

In another recent post Reece posted a pic of a 20" Hotfoot and if you look closely you'll see the frame dropouts and gussets are identical. To the best of my knowledge (and I was always a DB man) there was never a Harry Leary 24 - and anyway, the snake stickers were phased out before the Turbo came along. None of the other features of the f&f have anything in common designwise with 80's DBs. For what it's worth though the frames look strong and are reasonably light (about 6 lbs) and are supposedly all cro-mo.

Cheers mate

Kurt

Thanks martin, the mono has been delisted for some reason! Oh well. Back to the tip shop.

hey as you would have read , its just not on the US ebay , the ozzy one is shocking too ..... WTF are the kids learning these days , their grammar is a mess , no punctuation at all , the words like two/to/too their/there/they're where/were are all to-ther-wer . unbelievable , take the PS&X-Box off them , kick them on the street with only a bike and start the illiterate fat idiots on a crash course for life !

its got way to easy .... also guys im typing this with one eye closed , i have checked for spelling mistakes and punctuation errors .

only thing is , i already know the STUFF , just a few Friday nite beers have infringed on my typing-ability ! so excuse the typos if there is any !

Hey Osamaie,

I'm no expert - just passing on what I've picked up from researching my own Hotfoot frame and fork. I didn't know what the hell I had when I bought it. I'm no DB expert - just have an 82 Pro I bought new and was into them bitd.

I'm not trying to bag your bike or take the **** out of you or big note myself - when I asked the question about your frame set and stickers it was because I recognised the f&f and wondered about the DB stickers.

Still haven't worked out how to post pictures on here - happy to e:mail you some pics of mine.

Cheers Kurt

KOSY-MOTO
Yeah no worries Kurt... I understand but just remember don't quote what you don't know about old school bike in general without fact... In the mid 80's alot of mixed bikes came into the country with all different decals and tubes, we used to get alot of mixed bikes and rare goodies.

FOR example: Supergoose' that came into the country had different forks / drop outs etc.. We talked about these issues in the past.. you might wanna look page around pages between 100-201.. (dont quote me).. hehehe..

ReeceB: is that you Quickie? what reply?
