Ok guys , now I'm really confused. There are a few differences with the pics in the ad and what I have. The gusset at the front is smaller on mine and mine has holes in the dropouts and the pics in the ad don't. Mine doesn't have the plate behind the seatpost either. mmmm

This is my score for the day. $10 at the tip shop. The bloke said to come back regularly to check what he has. He said he gets old stuff all the time. There was a Redline freestyle bike there too that had been run over and was bent beyond repair:(. I need to see some pics of original minigoose' to see what I need. Anyone have some pics?

CoastVL

Vortex's were made by a guy named Gary Mills from the lat 80's through the mid-late 90's. He still makes them, but they are more of a discount brand now. He is based out of Elizabeth, SA, and was a major factory team sponsor for many kids in SA, as well as kids from Victoria. The brand was a continuation of Supa-Roo from the early 80's.

You can find a bunch of them in SA especially, for the obvious reasons.

Vortex sponsored many of the kids who are now so dominant on the Aussie and World Track and Road cycling teams. Ppl like Jobie Daijka and Chelsey Zucker rode for him during that time. I had a number of his frames, mostly becuase the geometry was really suited me well, and also becuase at that time, his frames were only about $250, which was a lot kinder to the wallet that a $500 US frame.

Hope this info helps,

Matt

Do any of you guys remember a rider named Christine Stubber? She was Australian Champion for a while I think? (I think that was her surname, I went to school with her) She would be in a Magazine from BITD somewhere

ive got a suparoo mini in my collection
redlineoz
hey all,, i got these obviously new school, but i was wondering on the staight lacing of the front rim? i seen in another thread about lacing this way...what does it do? stronger???
cheers brian
velocidad
makes for a very "stiff" wheel with maybe a miniscule weight saving from shorter spokes... i've seen hub flanges cracked from this lacing so not too good for a jumps bike > maybe ok for the mini class?
Wrectangle
Hey Brian, check out the link. And here i thought radial lacing was only for us roadies
