Morninton looked like a great track...a bit too far for me to pedal so I never made it there.
I think I've got some Pancake mags buried around here somewhere...if the missus hasn't thrown them out

the track was just off the main hwy,It was a very fast track with a steep hill,I think it was closed because the locals were complaining about the noise of the gate dropping!

i am in atlanta, georgia now ( wed night) i've got acouple of things to do until friday. i have nothing to do saturday. rockford is on this weekend. i had planned to go ( until the pork said he wasn't).............i have decided to fly to san diego to buy mountain bike parts instead. . my bad.
so it is official. i ama drunk and unworthy custodian of the front tyre that the pork wants so bad. ( 2.125 IRC black) so if anyone can find me a black comp II or III (1.75 or 2.125) i will give the pork his tyre as a form of self punishment. i am so small.

I was just thinking the other day we should have an Aussie version of Rockford. Maybe not as big but I think it would be cool. I have rellies and friends in Melbourne , so that'd be a great idea.

Were any of you in the first race in Victoria?
Held at a park in Springvale, and Pat Dillion's dad had built the ramps??
There were only about 12 racers ??

Fatnold - if i'd seen your post earlier i would have said - 'sober up and get to rockford!' but yes - give me that tyre!!!
Me and Trev have been talking about 'the gathering' for awhile, we figure if the first one works that we should move it around every year - ie. the one after Melbourne will be in Sydney ect, but probably limited to the east coast (sorry reece!) but who knows after a few years ?
PS- scored an E.T. Kuwahara this weekend!

There's no Rockford in Oz.....
Ok, lets get serious about it, stop calling it "rockford in Oz" and give it our own original AUSIE name.
Lets see, it could be :
OOZ - Oldschool OZ
BOOZ - Bicycle Oldschool OZ
CROOZ - Collectors & Riders of Oldschool OZ
BMXOZFEST
Ozschool BMX Show
and these are just quick ideas as i type it right now, if we sit'n'think a little deeper i'm sure we can all contribute to forming a name, place and whatever else we'd need to include in the show.
As i said a while ago, we're not as big as the yanks, and each state has limited people, and even less people would travel due to $$$ etc.
I did suggest the Oz show would be run SIMULTANEOUSLY in each state on the same weekend, and all pics/videos would be sent to a central site for all of us to check out.
I know a 'few' of you will travel, but i can't imagine the bummer feeling you'll get when 3 of you are in a state where nobody else showed up ;-)

The only thing about the simultanious thing is that there is not many people here (Perth) into OS bmx. there is another 2 on the board from perth but thats about it. I'm sure we could get a crowd, no worries there, but I doubt there would be many displays, stalls etc.
An annual show would be the go, and common sense would suggest it be in Adelaide for the central thing.
But then again, who here actually lives in SA? I think WA has more representation! Anyway, I would be prepared to travel but with plenty of notice. It would take a lot of organisation to get it off the ground.

I will be back in SA later this year, from Sept through to Feb of '06. Just in case it is decided that would be the best place perhaps.

Jun 20 2005, 04:02 AM
Well guys the idea was for a get together, a 'gathering' to meet each other, so the idea of simultanious ones in each state is not much more than what we're doing now. If ya don't want to or can't travel, then maybe the next one might be closer, that was the idea.

Jun 20 2005, 04:14 AM
i think the 1st one should be in the state with the most people and start from there...

Hi everyone, I scored this of the bay the other day and I'm at a loss as to what to make with it. It's off to the powdercoaters today. But what colour! Oh the choices. Can some one please give me a confirmation on the model? I'm thinking 280 air or something similar. There aren't a lot of pics around of Torkers. I have a GT Pro Performer F/F as well that should arrive soon. I have black tuffs for both frames, so if that helps.....and then theres the RL440!

If it's a Torker 280 Air Freestyler (it's obviously a freestyler) then they came in light blue and light purple.
I have some ads of this I can scan and post.

hmmmm I don't know which one it is. It's either a 360 or 280. The frame stands on the rear are welded differently on both models from the look of the pics. I think I have a 280 going by the ads in that pic. The 360, the stands are weled to the dropouts and the 280 they are welded to the chainstays.
And yeah I like black too.
Cheers Guys
