HowardinOz
Hey Luis, NICE!!!
That's almost the opposite colour scheme of what I intend doing.
Very cool!
Howard
dugga
seen the 2006 PK? .....nice. We won't see them here till March so I'm told
HowardinOz
The 2006 is Nice!!!
Somehow doesn't appeal to me as much as the older ones though. Is it because I'm older and can relate better to an older bike?!
I think the main thing that turns me off the new PK's is thay don't have the gusset at the front which everybody relates to the looptail PK.
Where can I find out the exact colour of the above bike?
Also, how the hell do I get the paint off my bike???
Just tried some heavy duty paint stripper a number of times and the existing paint just laughed it off!!!
The paint is like a thick coat of plastic.
Any help???
Howard
velocidad
nice Ian - so have placed your deposit yet?

the gusset at the front which everybody relates to the looptail PK.

I beg to differ, it's the cracked seat tube that everyone relates to the looptail PK - lol! (sorry just had to drop that one in... )
velocidad
Howardinoz, there is an industrial paint stripping place in Bayswater that does a frame and fork for about $25.... not worth getting your hands dirty for that, and i think thier chemicals are pretty good. anywhere over your side of town i wonder? -mark
HowardinOz
Hi Mark,
Ha Ha Ha. Your right of course!
I had another crack (pardon the pun) at it and used Selleys Kwik Strip.
It's the aerosol can type but it ripped the paint straight off. It also softened the stickers enough that they just peeled off like sticky tape!
I'm kinda impatient and I have a day off so I thought I'd get into it.
Bayswater's about 3 cans of Kwik Strip worth of petrol in the Yank Tank from here and I reckon I can do it for 2 ;-) Hee! Hee!.
Thank's for the tip.
Howard
velocidad
that's cool - get the camera out and post a pic!
dugga
Hi Mark,
Don't think I'll be putting down a deposit anytime soon.... I'm thinking factory sponsorship - the amount of money I've spent on their bikes over the past 23 years they must owe me a freebie by now
KOSY-MOTO
less chat more pics!! hehehe.. less chat more pics!! hehehe..lol..
HowardinOz
OK Luis, you asked for it.
A little bike porn!
In the beginning

The naked Landing Gear

HowardinOz
Can anyone tell me the name of the powder/baby blue?
Does it have a particular name or colour code I will need to ask for.
I'm going to go powder 'cause I intend riding it. It's really for my Son....no....really...it is!
(reckon I just heard about 6 people go rriiiiiggghhhttt!!!!
Howard
dugga
I believe it's called......
BLUE

Actually it has a pantone code that may have been discussed on this site before. You might want to post a question in the tech / restoration forum.
oh and keep those naked bike shots coming. mmmm.... those landing gear with legs spread....so inviting
KOSY-MOTO
Oh man.. keep it that way.. Ohhhh man.. what a sweet F+F's.. WOOOOW..
BUT if you wanna powder coated.. contact Roberto.. he is de BOMB of the powder coaters!!!

Howard: I have some bad news buddy.. I don't think baby blue is a colour in powder?? the closest I have on my Dulux colour chart is: horizon blue.. even then its not really baby blue...

Luis
dugga
There's a dulux colour called "inspiration" which is close. My front and side fence is painted in it.... I'll take some pictures in the daylight.
KOSY-MOTO
Hi Dugga.. thats interesting my Dulux colour scheme chart doesnt have that "inspiration".. Hmmm.. my ex who gave me this 2005 complete chart works for Dulux.. Im going to ring her up!! BIIATTCH!!

HowardinOz
Thank's Jarvi,
I remember reading a post on here about people buying the Baby Blue powder in 1kg bags but I did a search on baby blue and have been reading for about the last 3 hours so far!
Some interesting reading and nice SE pic's if nothing else.
Won the light blue tuffs on ebay tonight. Guess where they're headed?!
Howard
COASTY
So your the one who beat me to them I was watching them too!
AndyDiamond
Ask on the main forum about the SE blue - the colour has been pinned down and someone can point you in the right direction.

I don't think there are any bags of powder left though.
HowardinOz
Sorry Coast.
Got 'em for a pretty good price in the end, I think?!
Should look great on the baby blue PK.
Thank's Andy, found the old threads explaining the colour and its original name etc.
Howard
velocidad
So it sounds like your not gonna polish it Howard? didn't you do a Giant frame for your daughter?
HowardinOz
Yep!...I mean nope...I mean Yep!
Not going to polish it. Gonna get it powdered baby blue. Will try and get some camo pads for it and perhaps black or brown stickers.
Yes I did an old Giant Mosh CU92 for my daughter.

I have a pair of pink tuff II's for that as well!
Howard
HowardinOz
Here's a pic of the f+f before fit out.
