Holy Crap, don't take this as a complain, as I have got nothing to complain about, in comparison to the poor people flooded up north of here (Gold Coast), but I've just got my power back on after 48 hours without it. You have no concept of how power hungry you are till you don't have it. My little girl has never experienced a blackout before and she was a little nervous but once I gave her a mini mag lite she was happy as happy to read her books in my bed with the door closed and curtains drawn. There were 125kph winds coming off the water and rain coming up against the windows horizontally. Pretty wild.

About to chuck out a fridge full of food and clean all the salt off the windows. What a treat.

With weather patterns over the last few years it's getting close to parts of Queensland needing backup generators at home like much of the US east coast.

The broadwater a nice brown colour Stu?

Pleased to see you guys up north are safe and getting power back.

I was looking for that video Stu and tried wr250F and missed the first couple of letters. Was going to put that up as a placeholder. Instead I traced a picture of you from one of Roberto's shows. Slimmed you down a bit as you had been living in a good paddock back then!

All sorted guys. Poppa Mono, sounds like someone off Blokesworld.

Walking down the street yesterday and overheard a person say, "I shoulda popped a wheelie". Perhaps I chose the wrong one.

Passed by a skate park in Wilmington NC yesterday. Pay to get in so I just snapped a photo from the outside. Looked good with nice mix of deep and mellow and transitions between the two.

This was a cool memorial for a couple of fallen skaters, if there is such a thing as a cool memorial.

Nice looking park James. That's about the size of the Hervey Bay park. We have an idoor park now too.

I've been in Santa Barbara for a few weeks and did a ride the other night with about 170 people through the streets of downtown . Amongst the beach cruisers and 100+ decibel trailer mounted sound system equipped bikes there were 2 Cook Brothers 26" cruisers , a Gary Littlejohn pit bike and many other vintage gems . After the ride I was treated to a tour of Rex's from Santa Barbara Cruisers' workshop . So much bicycle history there , the factory that produced Nomura frames is a couple of blocks away , Chris King used to be nearby as well .

I'm going on a smaller scale ride with them again tomorrow , should be good .
Jarvi
Santa Barbara is a cool place, just a pity it's bloody expensive. If you find my wallet from 1995 hang on to it for me and I'll come and get it later...

I can guess...blind on a Contiki Tour.. smile.gif

Co-incidently, if you are in Vegas and find a jacket and in San Francisco and find a shoe, can you throw them into your lost property bin Gavin? I'll get James to pick them up for me...Oh and James is the rumor is true, that you lost your pants in San Francisco? laugh.gif laugh.gif
Jarvi
Close Stu. First night of Contiki tour in 92 was there. No sleep and saw the sun rise. The Beach Shack was where we discovered dollar drinks. Went back in 95 and they had metal detectors at the door so we passed and went elsewhere.

No pants lost in San Francisco although I did lose a jacket in LA. Were you doing a Cinderella impersonation when you lost your shoe?
Fulltilt

Oh , you two ! No wallets , shoes , jackets or pants found , just lots of sweet old school bikes being ridden and enjoyed . Two Cook Brothers cruisers on todays ride (both awesome) joined by an absolutely mint Powerlite 26" and a Robinson 24" . Some sixties Schwinn cruisers as well . We did over 50 km !

Rode by True Radius Bending (TRB) who made all the Nomura frames . Saw a never assembled 26" raw frame TRB made after they stopped doing the Nomuras .

Santa Barbara is expensive James , you're right . The hilltop mansion I am working at is worth around 25 million , it's 95 years old and just amazing . My buddy is a landlord at a unit block and showed me a tiny room he gets $600 a month for , my motorhome is over twice as big and is parked by the beach currently ! As a bonus though , SB is a college town and seems to be the yoga pants capital of SoCal ...

See how I got the focus back to pants , but in a good way ?
