Yeah I've seen that pic and those decals on them but never seen them on a real persons forks. LOL I've seen the three in my pic earlier.
I think Jeff is a friend of greyboy. His brother is on Facebook.

Mick I reckon maybe some alloy bars and post - the rest is perfect
I particularly like the choice of a black cable to tie it all together
Are you aiming for around 83ish?
Volcano
Jan 10 2012, 04:00 AM
Yep....around 1982-83 (Tange Mitylite forks are 1982)
Alloy bars could be on the cards mate....and a 13/16th alloy seatpost too......and as Glenn suggested, a black Tange seatclamp.
Its a mini...Ben.............Mark (Mr SuperLA) says its one of the only known Original orange painted frames from his Dad known to surface up on the forums (unless someone else has one hiding in their stash...lol)

The pedals are cool pedals but a lot of minis had MKS or KKT alloys. DX were more a pedal for the bigger kids. I dunno, just thinking out loud.
Volcano
Jan 10 2012, 06:30 AM
I have a set of KKT's in alloy....I agree, the DX are too big for the build.

Cecil Walker is a bike shop in the Melbourne CDB. Other than that I don't know anything about them.
I wonder about the people bike companies get to build their bikes for adverts. Surely some-one would have looked at the seat angle and said, "that doesn't look right."

Good pick up.

Awesome Mick.
Blue decals only seemed to turn up in the states during 1980. Have seen a few survivors though so they were definitely official, just rare. Mind blowingly rare when NOS!

Hey Mick. Jaxon noticed those results. He's hooked on the sprintcars as well now.
We've got the Presidents cup here on wednesday night, then the Classic at Warrnambool this weekend so we'll get our fix over the next week.

Hmmm nice DB. But never heard Sandy RIP. or Ramon ever mentioning those decals there were red lettering fonts too BITD but found out they were a UK addition and nothing to do with DB.
Kurt.
Jan 17 2012, 04:38 AM
Quite a few US survivor bikes have turned up with those decals Lew.
I have no doubt they were available from new for a while in 1980 on some frames. Whether they were actually officially made by Centurion/Western States Imports/Diamond Back is of course another issue.
Very cool though nonetheless - especially NOS.

Wow, sweet DB's!!!!!
And a SENSATIONAL Frameset Mick....Congrats on acquiring that one....
I am a sponge for old school BMX knowledge, love to learn new stuff but am a little confused, are the blue prism decals on Micks frame an after market product or similar or are they a factory option?
There needs to be a BMXPEDIA for reference so I can continue to learn...lol
Its been a bit slow around here lately, surely a few peeps have the odd cracker on the go..........show me please!!!

Classic Harry Leary, I love it.
Anyone been following Warnie's run in with a cyclist? It's all right for him to whinge and moan on Twitter however when the cyclist presents his side of the story Warnie says 'whatever' and 'time to move on'. What a tosser.
So how are we supposed to describe a female dog? Surely honey badger is not the correct way... The mind boggles.

Shane has had his day in the sun and finds it hard to let go of, a brilliant cricket mind on the pitch but away from it he is a tad loose.
I am a huge cricket fan (and that did include SW) but was so over his self promoting and airing of all his laundry that i "un-followed" him on twitter, huge task for me as he popped my twitter cherry so to speak, he was the first peep I followed...........bt damn the boy does not give up, drove me nuts!

Love those DBs' . Nice to see the dedication .
On to the overpaid whinger , and as a cyclist that was nearly killed by a car , S. Warne NEVER takes responsibility for his misdeeds . Look at his history , one thing after another , " me mum did it " , " everyone's out to get me " and other tired excuses . If you look real close at his face during the interview , you can tell he is lying .

Dear Aussies,
Which cities and/or tracks in Australia would be the best places to visit to get a feel for the BMX scene in that country? I want to plan a trip around these sites. Any guidance is appreciated.

Jan 19 2012, 04:25 PM
Hey mate. Welcome.
In my opinion the best places would be Brisbane/Gold Coast or Sydney. Both have a great scene and the tracks are world class.
Melbourne also has a good scene. Just remember our weather is all arse about compared to yours too. Bloody hot right now.
Kurt.
