Oh B are you coming out the Retro Grands at McArthur at Campbeltown...I've just been convinced to make the 20hour round trip down for the Race Meeting with Craig (Skywaydays) going to be Epic..haven't done a road trip with him for 26 years! Leaving Friday night at 10PM and returning after the racing on Saturday night...Craig doesn't like wasting time!

I hate that inland route Stu, depending on the time of day, keep your eyes peeled for Kangaroos, there is a lot of green pic out on the side of the roads and they are everywhere, i collected one at Glen Innes recently and another at Armidale a few months back, one at dawn and one at dusk.............have your wits about you.

Yeah, mate, we would go the coast route, GPS thinks that way is preferrable, I've done it a few times, it sucks compared with the coast road....friggin boring too!

Don't forget Stu (or anyone else heading up this way) there is now a "First Sunday of the Month" ride in Brisbane from under the Story Bridge - and we found a place with bargain steaks and beers for the halfway stop so you get to have a bit of a chinwag...

I'm going for my first friday night ride since the dental disaster, looks like we'll have a good crew as well as its a public holiday over here due to the CHOGM debacle. I've hired and ambulance to follow us like they do at the horseracing track and I'll be wearing a grid-iron uniform and have my head wrapped in cotton wool with only a small hole to see out of.
fingers crossed x
(i'll take my camera too so i should get some nice pic of the gang and the bikes)

Christian, back in December although not sure what my plans are and maybe only a couple of weeks in Melbourne. As Su said, bike is a couple of thousand kilometres away from Melbourne too.
Reece, some of the pro riders wear mouthguards for some tricks so it will just look like you're about to bust a front flip off a gutter.
The APEC meeting is here in soon. Will be a bit hectic and have already seen that some of the ocean will be off limits to swimmers, surfers etc, not to mention the street closures. Obviously a pecking order because some countries don't get full road closures like the US and China.

James , Stu , thanks for putting the photos up .
How awesome is it that as grown men we can enjoy riding our old bikes , hang with old mates and plan fun for the future ? Super freakin awesome !
Roadtrippers , beware dusk and dawn , B speaks the truth . The coast road has more towns and traffic lights ...
Oh yeah , Stu , it's ON ! Roberto's 2012 , grudge match of the century (I like hype) , all out wheelie war and a B&D jump comp ! How about a freestyle demo from our '80s brothers ? Good times .

Sounds like a plan Gav...I think Rob is a clear favorite in the freestyle comp...although Norm is building up that VDC weapon, so he might be doing some secret squirell training...

Things are a bit quiet here so another video. Been meaning to post this one for a while. Looks like a fun day and what BMX comps should be about. Look out for the dirt jumper at about the 5:10 mark. Sweet 360 and then a huge 180.

Wow, more proof I know very little about the early days of BMX.
Thanks to an intro from Norm, I caught up with some old schoolers a couple of weeks back. Most photos were crap because it was too dark. I did manage to grab a snap of one of the new school flatland setups. 18 or 19 tooth.

Happy Birthday Glenn.

Just out for my nightly ride into Surfers...pulled up in Surfers and look to my right and there is a sweet chrome Supergoose lying on the ground...walked over to the dude and said g'day..As it turns out he is a Gold Coaster living in Hong Kong...out here on holidays..he is a pretty big collector of Mongooses and Redline, he was very surprised to learn there are lots of collectors in Australia! Super nice guy by the name of Dave, has the serious bug...told him he should look you up Martin! Might be popping around to his Gold Coast apartment to see his bike room! Small friggin world!
