come on, where are the pictures dammit!!
Jarvi
Yeah, what he said ^^

Colour scheme is perfect on the JMC Martin. Whilst the SX levers were in theory a step down from the DX, I think they actually look better, especially on a chrome bike.

Martin, that is one of, if not the, nicest JMC 24's I have ever seen. I really like the chrome with blue and red. It is truly stunning. It looks like it is doing 100mph standing still smile.gif

You are a building machine at the moment smile.gif

yeah me likey too.

great looking bikes guys. i love the variety. and it's probably a good thing that the weather was iffy because if it had been too sunny yall might have been blinded by the bling sun_bespectacled.gif

it always cracks me up that the people in pics from bmx gatherings look like lego people with the upper part pulled off. just a bunch of legs wink.gif

Thanks Matt. Do you know if that is the rise from centre of the clamp area to centre of the grip? I have a NOS set of Hutch bars here I'm trying to ID. Thanks!

Thanks Glenn, weather is awesome so should be fun

All the stuff you do with your kids is awesome Matt. Makes me want to get some kids just so I can get them bikes.
JMCGT
It really has kept it all alive for me Martin..
We raced last night , again today and then a gathering tomorrow..+ i get all that time with the kids..

I wish my Dad had done that with me. I only got to race a few times. He wanted me to play tennis and never understood BMX.

One summer he took me to the Tony Roche tennis camp at Ryde across the road from the old Channel 10 in Sydney. Neither of us realised there was a BMX track right next door. I spent most of my time peering through the fence watching the local kids ride on the track. lol
JMCGT
LOL..classic.. I never got to race.. No money is our house
www.martin-bike.com
I was in the same unfortunate leaking boat. I worked summer jobs from 13 to buy my BMX stuff. I think that's illegal now. lol

Preview of my next bike. One of a handful of true 1982 frame sets made in November 1982. I'm making three variations of this one (I love number plates remember).

This one is a late 1983 spec:

Should be a cracker as usual Martin. Lookin good.
My parents never did the bmx thing with me either. I got to watch Ryde Eastwood a few times in the early days. It was on the way to my grand parents house at Dee Why so it was cool.
I had to ride from Baulkham Hills to Blacktown to race there. No wonder I was stuffed. It was an hours ride.
www.martin-bike.com
Yeah, I remember the first time I raced my Hutch Pro racer after upgrading from my Redline MXIII. I was so excited, feeling strong and decided to practice sprinting after waking up early. This was before I even understood what lactic acid was. Bad move. I crashed and burned even before I got to race. lol
Jarvi
Martin, getting you into tennis was probably his retirement plan. More money in tennis than BMX.

I played tennis at high school until I quit after I didn't agree with decisions the coach was making. My parents must have supported my decision because I can't remember any grief over the decision.

www.martin-bike.com
Yeah I figured that out later

Does anybody have any tips on how to remove stubborn screws holding reflectors on my KKT pedals? I got a couple out but the rest are impossible.

Been soaking it in WD40. Any other ideas?
Kurt.
Heat gun. Maybe even your wife's hair dryer. Bit of heat and a tiny bit of expansion might just do the trick.

I come from a footballing family and never had a bit of support for BMX! I did race a few times, but had to ride to the other side of the city without my parent's knowledge to even do that.

Get an old philips head screwdriver (but not one with a buggered end), and holding the pedal in a vice (between wood or something like that), tap the screwdriver on the end as you turn it to undo the screw (taking care not to round the cross drive : ) Typically that will help. It has worked for me a number of times.
Kurt.
Ok next question guys. What's the dimensions on Hutch Pro bars?
JMCGT
might be easier to post a pic of the bar.. shape and nurl is everything in bars
Kurt.
Obviously later Hutch bars with the knurling and stamp. But NOS and bloody cool!

Jarvi
Couldn't be at Roberto's last weekend so I thought I would hold my own show here in Barcelona today. Found the perfect venue at the Plaza Europa section of the Olympic Games venue. Lots of wide open spaces for jam sessions, gravel for doing skids and shade from the warm sun. I had a ball.

Start with the usual group photo that I take each year.

Sure was great to catch up with people I hadn't seen since last year.

Good to get a fishing story in there too.

"Yeah, but a Hotfoot isn't really a score of a lifetime".

Dam, Norm, what sort of hubs are they? It's funny that Matt and Adam also have a set on their bikes.

After all the riding I had to have a rest in the shade.
