This could be one of the reasons why Ajay has a claim to fame

mcam
Wow, I remember that photo! Wasn't that in some kind of BMX book?
AjayVBMX
Hi again. The photo above was from a sand jump we set up in Lane Cove, Sydney, I think in early 1980. Several photos from that day were published in various magazines and books, including USA Bicycle Motocross Action . I still can't believe the heights jumped on that day - and on one occaision I over-jumped the sand pit and landed on hard flat ground, something that would scare me silly today....

Anyway, here's another photo I found in my collection, which includes THAT numberplate again...photo taken mid 1981, I think, at North Ryde

Nice skills Ajay

No way Mr.BMX! Nice try but they look like the David Lucas plates . . . I know my plates. LOL. Here are some of mine:

Martin
www.martin-bike.com
Yes, I do have 2 authentic Aeros . . . but I don't have a black and white one
Mr.BMX
hehehehe Dave got them off me ;-)

Ahh, u got enough plates already,u dont need any more.
www.martin-bike.com
No!!!! Not true. The force is strong . . . need that b/w and baby blue/white Aero. LOL
Mr.BMX
MTB:

Do you have one of these ?
(yep, it is mine)

Enjoy !
www.martin-bike.com
No (sniff sniff) . . . I don't have one of those. Knott's Berry Farm is cool though - good roller coasters!
Mr.BMX
I remember in the magazine coverage that other knotsberry plates had a red or white centre (not blue as above)
I'm not sure if the colours denoted nove/expert/pro classes etc??? anyone?

I remember Jamie Hales had a red one here.
www.martin-bike.com
Professor! More pics please! And more of your story . . . when did you start/finish, why etc?
mcam
Martin,

You dont happen to have a old used Haro Series One, or Mini Series do you? Or one that has a cracked wing? I need one that I can (with a clear conscience) cut the wings off, to fit on my first gen GT cruiser bars.
www.martin-bike.com
Mcam,

I have two NOS red Naro Series 1s nthat are not in that photo. One is perfect, the other is perfect except for a 2 inch crack neat the wing. You're welcome to try and that and cut it off. Won't be back in Sydney until mid-December though.

I have 2 Mini Series - a yellow/white one not in that photo and the red/white one. Unfortunately, I can't let these go until I have them shot for builds.

Another plate not in that shot is my all black original Series 1 race plate.

If you're into Aussie plates, maybe the blue Invada would suit your GT? There are a few other options we can investigate when I hit the ground there again.

I need a blue GT pad set also - let me know if you come across any.

Do you live in Sydney?

Martin
mcam
Martin,

Nope. I live in Christchurch, New Zealand . The red Series One wouldn't really go with my chrome and blue GT, but thanks for the offer.

I have a Yellow on white Mini series as well, but I couldn't bring myself to cut the wings off it, as it is in relatively good condition. If only I had one of my old plates, a blue Mini Series. *sigh*...hehehe

Which one is the blue Invada? I could be interested in that. I'm also wanting to track down a white Invada like the one in this photo:

Thats me, a few days after I quite racing, on my old 83 GT 24. I hope to have that actual GT 24 back by the end of the year (I know who has it, and I'm talking with them about getting it back). Its a bit worse for wear, but I intend to restore it right back to the way it was. Which means trying to locate one of those plates. They fit the GT bars really well
www.martin-bike.com
Cool bike! I want one - always have since BITD.

Blue Invada is third row from the top, second from the left.

Hey, I have a spare set of yellow Santa Anna pads just like in your photo - they're copies. I found originals but the copies are almost identical.

Martin
AndyDiamond
Martin - I'd be into the red Series One for my Redline.

Possibly the GT pads in yellow.

Martin i have a 24inch GT 1982 for sale....
www.martin-bike.com
Andy, those 2 items are willing and available. You won't notice the crack in photos - could probably glue it finely and it would be nearly 100% - it's a clean break. Cool on the pads. They are the ImpactOnline ones - excellent quality. Again though, from 17-Dec when I arrive back home.

Chris, yes please! Robinson and GT24 on the list. What do you need? Maybe we can do a swap +.

Martin
