Ok lads (and lass) I finally got motivated today to rebuild my slipping Suntour coasterbraked Tuff II. Now I have every single type of coasterbrake part you could ever need, except one. I need a drive cone/thingy for a Suntour hub. I have a pic but my comp has been hi-jacked by my 11 year old.
fuuzoku

I understand its not everyones cup of tea but i was searching high and low for a nos Black Shotgun II to no avail, they must be likes hens teeth, long story short I found this one a few months ago, it is preety clean and will do for the meantime, anyway the print on the side was faded, tracked down some replacement decals and only just got around to putting them on (I have been extremely lazy and have been lacking motivation for the last few months, but thats another story) really pleased with the quality of these, courtesy of Del.....as mentioned above this will do for the time being......

COASTY
Del does good work. Looks good.
One Question, my Shotgun II has a gloss finish on it. Yours has a grainy finish as well. What gives? I've owned it for 28 years too. It's still stamped too. I have a 1st gen one as well on my Supergoose.
Volcano
Nice seat Ben smile.gif

Anyone watching LeMans 24 hour race?.....Massive crash last night! OMG!

...........and he walked away too.

COASTY
Hey Mick, this is the bit I'm lookin for. As you can see it's the main reason I have been slipping badly! It's fooked!

I've been watching all arvo mate. The old oil burners are damn quick hey?
They sound like a 79 Hilux diesel valve bouncing along the freeway.
pr200
Not sure Glenn, i had a red one back when i was at school on the Patterson and its the same as how i remember that, has yours got no texture at all on the top?

B
pr200
Before:

Glenn, has yours this pattern/texture on top?

COASTY
Nope, smooth as Micks bum.
pr200
Strange (must be all that nylon that Mick wears.....) was there a few generations of the Shotgun II?

B
Volcano
I only wear Spandex! hahahaha
Jarvi
Mine looks the same as Ben's.

Volcano

COASTY
I cvan't thank you enough Mick. It looks a little different but the same basic design. Should be good.
Ben, I'll grab a pic of mine. I'll be back.
Volcano
No probs mate...happy to help out my friend. (Im sure it is a Suntour part)
Um...what exactly are u taking a pic of Glenn?...hahaha
Jarvi
Mick you need to be over here. 29 degrees. Then again no bikes to play with, just damn xml/php/mysql/ftp/wget and numerous other computer things I have no idea about. Kind of why I keep dropping back in here. Has taken me an hour just to get a file transfer working, now to upload from xml to mysql.

Any proper techies here rather than pretenders like me? Might need some help soon!
COASTY
No chance here James. I've been winging it for 10 years and still haven't got a clue!
Mick, I went out to the garage and took a pic of my ShotgunII. ohmy.gif

COASTY
And my Shotgun on my Supergoose.

Volcano
Damn u James & your warm weather...LOL

Glenn has a Black shotgun! hahaha

Found these in my shed tonight - (1979 Quicksilver I forgot about). smile.gif

COASTY

Next time you duck out to the shed see if your seat has a date code on it, mine does but i think yours may be a tad earlier (1st gen) and i am not sure if they did.....nice little bit of homework for you...lol

B
Volcano
Just for BrizzyBen.............hahahahaha smile.gif

The 5.5 was bad enough, but the 6 was pretty scary. It felt almost as bad as the 6.3 in February. We're all good here though thanks. Some others, especially in the Eastern suburbs, aren't fairing so well though sad.gif

You're right though, I'm starting to get sick of it sad.gif
COASTY
WoW Mike, I can't believe NZ is still getting shaken up. I hope it stops soon. The place must be having a real hard time. I can't begin to imagine.

I took a million pics today for the hell of it. I was very bored after our ride to the beach.

Sorry for so many pics. I was VERY bored.
And Ben, I couldn't find a date stamp on either seat.
Brisben
one of my favourite man caves Glenn...

Love the pics
pr200
I think yours are first gen seats Glenn, cool pics, i dig those plates.....

While we are yarning about pics, I started to clean up this today, the chrome on this amazes me, its a 1984 vintage and the chrome is bang on....Im started to get excited about this...lol

Pics cant pick up just how nice the chrome is, you will have to trust me.

Took me the best part of 3 or so hours to pull the frame decals off (It was rooted.....) then another hour or so to clean the decal residue off......the wife will poop poop poop, I say again, poop when she realises that she is missing half a bottle of Chanel No5, it stripped the goo off with ease...

COASTY
Very shiny. Looks like it's gonna be a sweet build. WD40 gets the sticker crap off easy too.
pr200
I wish I had known that earlier, may have saved me a few dollars......

Would have loved to be able to post a photo from my last run, however, didn't have the camera and her husband/partner might not have appreciated my actions... Been getting through heaps and not out and about much. Down to my last 2.5 weeks so really need to see more of the place.
Kurt.
Nice pics guys. Love your detail shots. Feels like a bike show. I just love checking out the minute details on builds. Can stare for hours.

Well I'm not gonna be in Melbourne tonight after all. Frigging Volcanos!!! Still no Qantas or Jetstar flights out of Tassie. Sorry Mick, hope it's not a relative tongue.gif

Jarvi
With the ash cloud being 8000m up I'm not sure why Qantas and Jetstar don't just do the same as Air NZ and fly below it. Their spokesperson on the news inserted the word safety after every third word. I think she had been told to push the safety line. It's a wonder they don't blame their insurers as they are an easy target that no-one can really confirm or deny. Then again, I'm no airline expert so what do I know.
Kurt.
I agree James. Qantas and Jetstar and Tiger grounded, while Virgin flying all their regular flights plus extras. It's bullcrap.
