So who wants some Bottema forks?
Seems as though Jeff wants to remake them.
Wow what a novel idea...
Oh well.

They are a stunning looking hub but I'd never trust the company. since they started making "old stock". Sorry , don't meant to be a pric.

like I said they are stunning though, what are they going on?

Nah thats cool Christian, we all have opinions..............to be honest i have never had any dramas with my hubs....

Going on this.......

Yeh i spotted that Glenn.......

Crazy stuff, better off leaving things alone imo

Thanks to Norm providing the motivation to do some work on the RSABOUT website (no there still aren't any buy buttons...) I came across some old photos.

Yeah..
I would have loved to see that thread in 5 minutes if it wasn't Greyboy making them which is well respected over there scratch_one-s_head.gif
Why don't they continue on the tradition with threadless if they want to revive that brand of fork?
MrProline
Lol, how can a man go clothes shopping if the website don't let him buy anything?

Fix it up James so we can buy some more of your stock

Awesome shirts, even got one for my old man good3.gif

Jarvi
I am doing it Norm, I just had to transfer all the other parts of the site to the new WordPress setup first and that has taken four days so far. All in good time grasshopper.
Kurt.
Lovely hubs B. Bolt through too. Noice!

Bottemas. Well. Um. I dunno. I'm always torn on the repop/reissue stuff, but everyone else seems to be doing it, so why not Jeff.

Hope they do a 1 1/8" version though smile.gif

Cool pix James.
MrProline
Im all for the 1 1/8" version if they make it, but the vintage stuff should be left alone if they are going to make it exactly the same

looking forward to that bike.
COASTY
I agree Norm and Kurt , although I can't comment on the issue of the forks. I saw the error of my ways. I would buy a set of newschool ones in a minute for my 07 Quad. I was going to get some before Gary went arseup.
I'll have to get a shirt too James. I had stickers everywhere but no T's. Great pics too!
JMCGT
Atleast the upside is that Porkchop is making the decals for the Bottemas..
hope they come with super bling chrome too..

ah who cares, these are for the next generation of collectors...
MrProline
there is no next gen vintage parts collectors mate, we are the 80's freaks right here right now drinks.gif
broke L345
he posted that late at night over there, pretty sure they are gonna give him some grief.
MrProline
i think it's already started laugh.gif
Kurt.
*cue striptease music*

ta da da daaa, ta da da daaaa....

Kurt.
PS. The stem gives me 3mm more reach, and drops half a pound off the weight of the standard alloy top loader that came with the PK!
Jarvi
I think you have turned into a weight weenie Kurt.
Kurt.
What do you mean turned into James. Weren't we always bitd. I certainly was. lol
Kurt.
Fitted smile.gif

Jarvi
I ran one piece cranks, aero rims and a DX seat post so I probably wasn't one back in the day. There's always the saying about strength, weight, cost and I think the latter had more to do with those choices. To this day I find it easier and cheaper to lose weight myself, rather than bike parts.

That one definitely looks better than the stock SE one.
Kurt.

This is very true. But as you know only too well, you've gotta pimp your ride!
broke L345
Very nice Kurt.

I've always worried more about geometry than weight. I can coast my bitchen comaro through a set of tripples no worries and it's chromo with tuffs but ballanced perfectly for my riding.

as poor as my riding is most times. laugh.gif
JMCGT
How about this one Kurt.. probably weights as much as your wheels.. LOL

20.5 t/t evo.. my Daughters new ride
Kurt.
Looks very cool Matt.
broke L345
my supercross was the scariest bike I ever owned, had the steepest steering angle and the shortest rear end. So if you could keep the front down it was squirrely as hell or would just wash out. I raced a state titles in 95 or so and went over the first roller then shot off into the crowd....Those were the days laugh.gif

rolleyes.gif

lovely looking little bike though Matt. love the green on it.

good to hear mate.
Jarvi
I went down today as well. And before you ask, no I didn't hit a stationery Craig. Knee, hip, forearm and fortunately the gloves stopped to much damage to my hand.

Was still a great ride though, including the part where Stu and I almost ran over a snake. Stu was just in front of me, scared the snake and it headed to the same side of the path that we were riding. Too late to bunnyhop or avoid it.
