I am a computer retard but can anyone find me REM Murmur, I would love a link to listen to the whole album. it was my fav in 1985 so was Lone Justice. (my grunge days)
Jarvi
Christian, I have ten REM albums and some extras and Murmur isn't one of them.

Youtube - http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...murmur&aq=f - a few videos

Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Murmur-Rem/dp/B000001I0A - Only $10

Fanpage - http://www.murmurs.com/
broke L345
Murmur in my opinion was the best REM album, I had an American pen pal in the eighties and she sent me loads of tapes, rem, replacements, lone justice, the Smiths, slash the early sessions, the romans.... these were my mohawk, lock myself in the room & leave me alone days.

still love all that music

Thanks for the links James might go to JB high fi today and have a look.
Jarvi
Good memories for me too. Took a while to get into REM and wasn't really until my Contiki tour in '92. Losing My Religion and Out Of Time. A good concert DVD of theirs is Perfect Square, recorded a few years back in Germany. Looks like a great concert location. One day I'll tell you a story about R.E.M. and what else it means to me.

Back to BMX though, Spike Jonze directed a couple of their videos. Crush With Eyeliner and Electrolite.

First 4 R.E.M l.p's [ murmur, reckoning, reconstruction of the fables, life's rich pageant ] are all great, things after that are kinda hit and miss.
Kurt, the track your going to race at held the 1994 Australian titles, looks like it has not changed one bit either.
MrProline

Thats an interesting topic for discussion. What music do you relate to your vintage racing days. For me, it is New Orders Power Corruption and Lies. Blue Monday pounding through the walkman headphones whilst warming up for a race. And Soft Cell's Tainted Love, playing over the PA during the practice at one of my last nationals.

Good time smile.gif
Jarvi
Never been a music for inspiration person as far as sport goes and can't really think of any from back then. As for work or life in general, music can be a good inspiration. The Boss' Born To Run rates up there along with Slave To The Wage by Placebo. Never did get the whole Blue Monday thing. All right song, nothing great though.
broke L345
Joan jet was playing at the opening of the northland bowl. loved it back then.
COASTY
Never got into the music while sporting thing either. I was heavily into metal but we never took it to the skatepark or track. Whatever they played over the PA was what we listened to. We had to travel too far so carrying a boombox wasn't an option.
JMCGT
The Era. ! for me it was Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer.. mellow easy listening..

Good to hear a "new romantic"....as the music press labelled it.

Every time I think of you....

From around 82 my brother got me into Ska, and I loved it for a long time until I found Hip Hop in 88, in between times I listened to NYHC and a bit of skate music, but damn hip hop grabbed me for a good few years, now everytime someone posts a track or suggests a band I try and have a look at it, and at the end of the day I love all that stuff we grew up with!!!!

Not too sure about the rubbish they play now

if we were back in my home town and dirt jumpin in my mates back yard with the home sterio pumped way up....it was stuff like hit wave 81' varrious artists. Mark got it for x-mas. Or for me at the track was sex pistols or dead kennedys. I liked alot of hiphop too. Africa bambaataa or a box set i had called the Electro's (9 albums).

Good timing smile.gif I was listening to the Sex Pistols this morning smile.gif
Kurt.
In my early BMX days - like '80, '81 we'd go to a mates place and listen to some Kiss or Iron maiden whatever - that'd pump us up for riding. Never did the walkman at the track thing. Got into a lot of Aussie music after that. Saw The Radiators live once too - they were regarded as the loudest pub band in Oz for a fair while. Great show they put on too.
COASTY
That would explain my hearing Kurt! I lived close to their home pub at Rydlemere.

Kurt.
Looks like an '87. I don't think anyone reproduces these decals, but if anyone can put you on to an original set, it's Waza. The '87 Californian's came in chrome or black, so black powder would be a much cheaper option than a rechrome if you were so inclined. Welcome to Vintage BTW.
