Welcome back Roy!
What you have there is a September '82 Silver Streak.
Are the bars stamped (on the front of the bars on the right side)? They look a lot like DB Pro bars.
edit: Just rechecked your pos - they are DB Pro Bars. There's $150 worth on their own any day of the week

My latest mode of transport. Mix between a normal and long board with slightly bigger wheels. Don't really like the look of the pointy nose longboards. I like my decks just like my women. Sorry Dani, as the only female popping in here I hope you aren't offended and I thought I'd get it in before someone else did.

your right volcano kurt know his DB 's lol
Coasty!! How's the north coast glen? you'd be a local now!! lol it's been a while, i couldn't ride freestyle anymore cause of my back, so i went into dragsters choppers lowriders as you know...well both knees went on me....so couldn't ride at all. No problem there, i dealt with that and bought a tuff car insted lol....today is 3 weeks since my right knee surgery. I had the left one done in july. So fingers crossed i will be able to go for a ride in about 3-4 weeks time. Have not been on a ride since last year when the old knees went. lol....all good now and i'm walking around like i should. I missed seeing everyone at the qld bbq this year, i had to be at greezfest this year.
so that just about wraps me up....haven't done anything exciting really. Just same old me!! lol

Feb 1984 Roy.. and number 73 for that month.. what is another number near those..one by itself..? 4 or 2 ?
Volcano
Oct 1 2010, 06:10 AM
So Matt, the GT serials read: 2840073
2 = February
84 = 1984
0073 = production number for that month.
Is that correct?

That is correct. There is generally another number, by itself, stamped near the serial.
JR = Junior (Mini size), 2 = Expert and 4 = Pro
My 24 has the 4 stamping. I was told 24's were stamped with a model number as well, because for a short time, there was an Expert size cruiser produced around 82-83. That was stamped with the 2. The Expert size cruiser is a very rare frameset. I've exhanged emails with an ex factory rider who told me he recalls them, but I have never seen one.
GT also produced a 22. It was a one only, and was used by a couple of the US factory team (I think Mark Perez and Chris Torres? (Can't recall))

kurt...those DB bars, they have the cross knurling for the stem....i dug though my bars and found these, exactly the same, same welds, same size, better chrome, but where the stem goes has the 2 rows of straight knurling. Would these be DB maybe later year model? I know the cross hatched ones are from the og japan. No markings at all on these other bars.
All the steel DB bars I have seen have been stamped Roy (plus with the crosshatch knurling). Don't know about those ones you have mate.

Beauty!! on the bottom bracket serial number is 00172 its pretty beat up. Someone has cut the seat clamp area off at the bottom of where the clamp would stop. The seat pole is stuck in there and they have put it in a vice in different spots and left vice squash marks in the tubes....it was thrown out on the footpath for curbside cleanup...a friend of a friend was riding past and saw a red anno bully stem in this frame and picked it up for the stem....he took it to my mates place where he removed the stem and said...hmmmm oldskool told me about a frame like this....so he rang me. He didn't know what it was, but soon as i walked in i saw it. This is the same as the last bike i raced pro on (2 seasons). The Redline (one race) i rode at Miami doesn't count (didn't race) cause gary ellis stayed in sydney and didn't come to the race....so we went swimming insted!! lol.
