You could always get a Moosegoose Troy?...
Moosegoose F/F

Jun 23 2010, 04:36 AM
That Moosegoose was in my price range Mick, however there are 2 reasons I didn't bid on it.
1/ They are ugly (sorry to offend, but they are).
2/ I'm saving my biccys for one of those 20" bikes, u know the ones with the schreader valves.

Hey Matt you what, your right, the quill only inserts itself 3/4 of the way huh.
What steered me this way when I saw it apart from the bolts sticking through the top & the stamping underneath was the fact that the top/lower cap was a lil damaged & marked as it was pressing against the h'set locknut... It just dinn look like it was meant to be that way.
My bad, sorry...

Hey everybody, just got back from Chicago / Rockford.
Before I start sharing some cool stories and photos over coming days, there is one thing I need to share about all of YOU.
One persistent theme I got all weekend was how awesome the Australian vintage BMX scene was. You guys are lighting the way and in a big way. Well done guys! We're trying to organise for myself, Mike Miranda and Juan to visit Roberto's. Hope it pans out.
Just in case any of you missed it, this was the launch of CW Racing last Friday night:

From left to right: Me (Martin), Mike Miranda, Jeff Haney, Juan Mattos

Nah, not yet Mick...just up for a ballot tomorrow I believe...
Now to more important items at hand, Martin, that would be awesome to get those icons down to here, more so it would be nice to finally meet yourself...
I'm not a big re-issue fan, but these frame sets look out of sight, I love the fact that you guys kept the original Amercian BB, 1" Headset and flat brake bridge...those finishes are off the hook!
Can't wait to hear some of your stories of your travels...

I second that. I got burnt on a "big name" in the hobby, who sold me an "inverted Tuf Neck", which turned out to be flipped. Not only was I scammed, but it was also downright dangerous.
I took photos to show how it can't work:

The marks on the base of the stem show where the quill was pressing up against the face. On a proper inverted stem, this is where the counterbore is, which is where the quill is pressed in. On a standard stem, it is on the other side, which is how this one is.
Some Pro Neck inverted stems had the cap stamped, and others had the top of the stem stamped. I've only seen Tuf Neck inverted stems stamped on the top. I have one of each. (Pro Neck stamped on the cap, and a Tuf Neck stamped on the top)
Cool score though! A nice survivour 26!
