COASTY
Sweet! Why no Hutch stem Matt? I love the ProNeck too.

Yeah I know Mick but those are first gen nickel Redlines. THE beginning of real bmx parts. Notice the bearing cone machined onto the fork crown.
Volcano
Will Minna like this? wink.gif

JMCGT

Why didn't anyone else do that!!!!!!

What a great idea!

I've heard Scotty has Minna Tube sox....
COASTY
Well apparently the cone goes inside a Schwinn headset which was the problem.
I'll let Linn Kastan tell the story.
QUOTE
I machined an angle on that collar that fit the angle that was on the fixed cone of the Schwinn headsets
of the day. But the problem was that when kids saw that angle on there, they didn’t think they needed the race,
so they started running the bearings directly on the fork, and the forks were constantly come loose and we kept
getting calls from people saying they cant keep their forks tight, and we had a couple of them send them back
and when they sent them back, of course, we saw that the hardened balls were just beating their way into that
angle, that was machined on that collar, and the fork was constantly getting loose and they finally they’d just
run out of threads. Or sometimes it would actually slip over it, it would get beat up so badly. So we didn’t do
that very long. We changed that pretty quickly. That was the first actual modification. And the second one was
the nipping of the cutting off the fork legs so they didn’t go by the dropout.
Kurt.
Hey fellas, does anyone know if has a date been set for Knox this year?
AdrianH
Nice Hutch Matt, gonna look a treat.

Love the stickers Mick. Reckon you could do "Rach" in DB font. Im building my missus a DB Medium Pro. Custom orange paint tho lol.

I think I have a set of those forks somewhere Glenn.
Kurt.
How cool is this! You might remember a week or so ago I was looking for a locking collar for a Sugino sealed bearing BB?

Any way, Blackout Steve (Steve Knight) from OS-DB and Oz offered to have some machined up. The result is below. If you are looking for one, $10 each plus $2 postage from Steve. Thread down below.

Bargain.

That is my original collar on the far right - great workmanship on the new ones! smile.gif

COASTY
Bugger! Thats a great buy.
Kurt.
So cheap. I predicted over $400. If he had of been an overseas-postage listing, I reckon it would have got there.
skywaydays
I wanna come down to Knox again this year guys but would love to bring a bike or 2 this time if I can..
broke L345
Cheap stem,

I thought you had a skyway there last year Craig, be good to see you there. I was also gonna ask did you ever see Scottt loxleys Ta with skyway proto type forks? It was at the last on the grass.
COASTY
Started off as a nice day. It rained not long after this pic.
JMCGT

COASTY
LOl I won't tell.
The best part is Enzos coffee shop here in this pic. Right on the beach. Love riding along here although the headwind made it a lot harder today.

You would be main contributor to that hey Glenn?
Although I did see Eccles here a month ago though.
COASTY
Yeah I guess so Troy.
I like to dribble crap about aussie bmx. Nothin else to do up here.
troyboy66
Most of your dribble is quite legible to me, so what does that make me.

Some (on other forums) just dribble.
Volcano
LOL...us Aussies do like a chinwag! wink.gif

Went for a pedal up on the "Sunshine" coast today...was very very cold & windy.
Had fun & rode about 25kms...

Not wrong about the weather Mick.
It was crap weather here yesterday & not much better today.
Kurt.
Move south fellas. Blue skies all long weekend. Built myself a new workbench for my bike shed out of old recycled timbers from our house. It must weigh at least 150kgs!
COASTY
We'll be right Kurt. I like the sun. It just came out here.
Got some pics of the bench? Sounds cool. I'm thinking of building one myself.
Mick, just got an email from Woody Itson regarding Stroker decals.

Kurt.
Beautiful lineup B! Wish my attic looked like that!

Very cool stickers Glenn. I believe the gold and orange head tube ones are early - so the silver and black would be right for your cool 3rd gen.

Mick have only two words for you. You Suck! Ok, two more: Stunning mate.

I'll take some pics of the new bench tomorrow in the daylight - legs are like 8" x 3" hardwood. 6" x 2" for the other boards! Been laying around the yard for years and a bit of a plane and they are really great. We have a Federation place and it had a couple of 50's and 60's modifications that we demolished when restoring her. This wood is like iron - I burnt out about 3 x 10mm drill bits getting through it all to bolt her together! I wanted her to look like she had been a bench for 100 years or so so it is nice and industrial smile.gif

edit: Sorry Mick. I saw the stunning shiny G-Boy and just assumed it belonged to Scrooge McChristian. Now you suck too. 70's Uber-exotica!!!!
