That is a beauty Ben. Haven't seen that for ages. Love the cast alloys too, not to mention the MCS stem. Hit up Waza for some C-183s!

21 again Reece? happy birthday mate

And for you Pete for tommorrow.
COASTY
Thats a great bike Ben.
Mick, it seems to have a pretty good sticker on it. Thanks mate. I'll see you about Stroker ones but. No rush yet. I don't know if it will be ready for Robertos. Too much happening at once! We'll see. The forks should be here soon too.

So Reece, What did you get ?
Kurt.
Hey Glenn,

First MCS stem ad I have found in BMXA is April '78. Allowing for magazine production timeframes and the fact the stems would have been manufactured before they were advertised, they were certainly available in '77.

We need access to Waza's extensive pre-'77 library of other mags to nail it down any more I reckon. I spent a great evening a couple of weeks ago going through just some of his mid 70's papers and mags. Amazing collection.

Got some nice black cranks for it too and I'm changing the grips

Volcano
Kurt - Found this advert in the April 1978 BMXA mag - MCS Stem

Glenn - You need these forks for your build mate! wink.gif

Kurt.
Thanks for the ad Mick.

Naah I reckon either of these Two Wheeler's forks would go better on a Stroker!

COASTY
WOO HOO ! Thanks Ben.
Thats the ad I found too. I can't find anything earlier than that ad in April. I have a few 77's and 76's.
Oh and the forks are these ones. Coming from Michael (Monster Robot)
COASTY
I got offered a Two Wheeler Pro from Mr Smith. They came out in 1979.
I have every Two Wheelers advertising in the database on OS. Check ''em out.
Thanks for looking guys.

Oh and check the welds on the forks! Awsome! Much better than their frames.
Kurt.
Have you seen the patent application for the Stroker frame Glenn - I have the PDF of that.
COASTY
No mate I haven't. Can I get a copy of that?
I reckon their bars would be a hard thing to find. Ken Pliska had a complete he was gonna sell me but I don't know what bars his had on it.
Kurt.
PM sent.
COASTY
Great stuff Kurt. Thats really cool. Need to find that magazine mentioned in there!
Kurt.
I've got that March '75 somewhere. Give me a sec.
Kurt.
Here is the ad - March '75:

COASTY
WOW Thats cool. Someone said they never came in Black. Theres proof they did.
Thanks Kurt.
QuicksilverBMX

Volcano
Happy Birthday Pete Porker! smile.gif Rock on mate!!!

Glenn - found this photo of some Stroker forks...

Kurt.
Hey Mick - you are a whizz at this stuff. Can you turn the PDFs of the patent for Stroker frames into JPGs or BMPs?

I'll e:mail it to you, have a look!
Volcano
Here u go Kurt smile.gif

Kurt.
Awesome Mick!
COASTY
Good Job Mick. The early forks look a lot like Tange TX 500's a bit.
Volcano
Found this too Glenn...

COASTY
WoW Mick 1974 it looks like. Jeff Bottema looks very young there!
Thanks mate.
Kurt.
Well here's the Hutch I picked up today. Bargain. She's an '84 and made in Taiwan. I've got a few Qs though - because although it has 1 1/8" TT and 1 1/4" DT, it is longer than a Raider is supposed to be (475mm top tube - nearly 19") and has drilled, not pressed vent holes in the rear end. Weird. I've put a thread over in the Racing section to ID it for sure.

Ben - don't suppose you could measure the TT lenth (centre to centre) on yours?

Also, does anyone know when 48 spoke Araya 7Xs were introduced? Has a nice straight set of them with high flange Suzues (no holes).

redlineoz
Nice pick up Kurt.

Jarvi
Was out walking around the streets late yesterday afternoon and came across a bunch of inline skaters, probably 50 or so, with a police escort front and rear and one also skating. Didn't have any signs etc so I assume it was just a regular friday night cruise. Can't imagine them doing the same for a bunch of BMXers who wanted to cruise the streets.

Then again, I think I would rather be hassled by a few of the uniformed population rather than ridiculed by almost all the population.

Kurt.
You remember the Village People James. Lycra and Police uniforms just go hand in hand...
COASTY
lol I can see you in that lineup James. Oh what a sight!! LOL
The annual ride through LA is on right now I think. Not sure if they have a Police Escort though.
QuicksilverBMX
Well another Blackhawk was found yesterday over here by another collector. He also scored a late 80's Mitygoose, a hotfoot and a late 80's DB. Not a bad days work for $35

sorry I only have pics of the mitygoose (the Blackhawk is in the background)
Kurt.
Nice scores. Are they XCIIs on the Mitygoose?!?
COASTY
Hey does anyone have a 13/16 seatpost? I don't want a flash one. Steel or cro-mo. Apparently Strokers are 13/16th. Damn it.
