Glen, are you nuts, that's a damn good ride. I have to start getting fit again I'm feeling 41

Feb 23 2010, 01:41 AM
LOL It's a pretty easy ride. Ask Matt! He done it it in one day but in 2 stages with kids. I find it very relaxing and it clears my head. I also find all my 44 year old aches and pains disappear when I ride. Now that I have full feeling back in my rearend I feel great!

Geez 28k's on a kashimax = 2 years in prison!
I'll bet your bum is sore!
COASTY
Feb 23 2010, 02:41 AM
LOL Thankfully it wasn't a Kashimax. It is a Messinger copy. Padded but not much.
Kurt.
Feb 23 2010, 02:49 AM
LOL. I found after a while my Kashi wore in.
Actully, come to think of it, the kashi won. It was my bum that wore in. Selective callouses!

hahaha My Shotgun on the Supergoose is not too bad. The aero one is ok too. I don't think I'd do it on any of them though. I might give the padded Kashimax Aero a go later this week.

I've found that mountain bike shorts make a huge difference when you ride with old style seats

I find If I ride further than 10k's on a Kashi etc, I have to ride the rest of the way side saddle!

Glenn - Awesome cruiser mate!...White tuffs look great mate.
Kurt - Can u call me....re: 2 hole blue Kashi seat for your build

Christian - 3 G-boys...woohoo! Well done mate...and a euro BB for the frame as well.
By the way.....(in 38 degree heat today)....I bought a 1982 Blue Max Frame, forks & a set of Skyway Tuff 1's today...(big thanks to Pickles & Meatpie)
The frame/forks are in MINT condition...very happy. Its a frame I have had on my "list" for quite some time...now its in my collection.

That's some decent distances on the bikes, boys. I've done a few long rides around Brisbane and the Gold Coast on my Campillo with the first version of the FlyBikes seat. In my opinion it was much worse than any old school seat even though there was padding. The good thing was that with the short seat posts these days it meant much of the riding was standing up anyway. They redesigned it be a bit wider and now it doesn't feel like it wants to disappear...
Nice pickup Mick. Dropouts look very tidy.

Cool score Mick! Very clean.
Will give you a call today.

Ahh Kurt - the point of the MTB Shorts is that they look like every day cargo shorts, sneakily hiding the lycra underneath so as not to cause offence

Christian I think you should weld all three together. The two completes on the outside and the frame in the middle. Just like the bikes in the tourist areas so you can go cruising.
Haven't been out and about much as I have a few weeks here. Just to keep you happy, here's a shot from where I stopped and had a coffee one morning. A great homemade ice cream place there as well.

Hill sprints anyone? No this isn't my driveway, fortunately.

Any of you fellas have experience doing helicoil repairs?
Got a Redline Brute stem here where the theads in the base are buggered. Bolts will thread in but won't hold enough tension and slip when tightened right up. Bits of the original(?) helicoils coming out.
Looking for tips/expertise!

$46K BikeLot of money to state the obvious like, yes I feel tired, yes I'm sweating a bit, yes my legs aren't as powerful as an hour ago... Wonder if it also tells you whether your bum looks big in bike shots?

Please note this seller on ebay
rwrightway2009
While his bikes are real and he does own what he is listing, his story is a bogus as anything.
He bought at least 2 of the frames he has listed as complete bikes from me LAST WEEK!!!
He does know more about the bikes than he says. Check his feedback to find when and how much he paid for what bikes.
It seems to me as he stared collecting 3-4 months ago.

Kurt, it's the little things I love about that bike, the BB, headset chain goodyear rear tire.... you know the stuff you wouldn't usually look at. and the stem ofcourse. I really didn't want to sell it but the Frame I got was higher on my agenda.
Hope you love it.

Feb 26 2010, 05:11 PM
Yeah it's a beauty. Have changed out the stem (running a '79 Brute) and seatpole - and am taking her for a ride this morning. Roots!
Yeah - that Tange AW27 headset is in brilliant condition. Looks new. I have one here in the box for my DB.
edit: Those 7Bs are in amazing original finish too. Hey - that caliper was a later add on after the guy on Society bought it. Think I'm gonna change it out for a '76 Weinmann caliper I have here with a shorter reach.
