Queer Eye for the Avacado CW Guy! laugh.gif

So they look like CW drop outs...and it looks small, flat plate for the brake bridge, upside down serial number...hmm....thinking...thinking...

I can't see the photo at work, but I am guessing it is either one of the following:

VDC Changa

Or a PR200J

If I win, do I get a prize?

Oh MCAM you are good...it looks to be the very end of wing on the end of the decal...like the VDC decal!
Jarvi
Twin sister Stu?

No idea on the frame. I thought I knew a bit about BMX until I started collecting them.

Here's some photos from today's walk. First one is for one of our very infrequent members. Then the other two are where the concept for RSABOUT was born. After staying out all night we slept in the car in the carpark until the room was ready for check in. Grab a few hours sleep then start all over again...

JMCGT
Hmm.. not bad
Not a JR with a US b/b though Mike

The good ol strip.. Man, being stuck at work sucks. Really nice day out today. Should have had you ride your bike down the street to me. These guys are taking forever.
Jarvi
Been out walking for about four hours today Bill. Legs are a bit tired. Had to get the sightseeing in because of the weather forecast for the next few days.
Surf911S
Weather forcast for the whole week. Saw the news this morning. Calling for rain all week.

I'm stuck here till 7P tonight, so I'll give you a call tomorrow. I'll come up and pick you up, bring you down to the house.
Jarvi
Perfect. Should be cold enough to freeze the water just by opening up the doors to the stadium.
Surf911S
Door have been open, and yes it COLD, LOL.

I'll have to get Leroy to check out your pictures....

Now that hotel, looks horribly familiar!!!!!...Contiki accomodation, can you go in and get my jacket and shoe back???

Welcome to the VDC club Ben..
they are one ugly, beautifully built bike..
pr200
It was yours that set me off mate...lol....

Look even uglier with the monkey bars, love the ugly duckling, this one may be turning white..........not quite sure yet...congrats on your new purchase too mate, lovely stuff!!!!!

That is sweeet....I love it...I've only seen 1 VDC and that's Chris (CBC) cruiser....

Not to sound like too much of a purist, but please think carefully before you paint or powder that...it looks to be in awesome survivor shape!

Had me buggered...till the tip of the sticker was studied...awesome pick up, yours too Matt, you boys are putting together some of the rarest stuff on planet!

Bill, I was sitting there, had a bid of $250 ready to roll, had a my brain say.."you made a deal, that you would only have 7 bikes at any 1 time"...dam voices in my head!!

Love know the background on it...I've only seen a couple of Profiles with brake bridge used a bottom bracket brace...and they have all been on cruisers....I reckon that was very early frame..although it had the chainstays welded at the same level as the top tube....wierd...Profile and there inconsistancy...bit like the retro cranks! huh.gif
COASTY
WOW That was a bargain for that cruiser! Stu you could of junked the yellow one then you'd still have a frame sitting there! Just a different one. LOL
Nice VDC too. You guys have some killer builds coming up. Can't wait to see them.
pr200
Thanks Stu and Coast, i have always loved these ugly ducklings, especially after viewing Matts!

I completely understand about the og/survivor build Stu, thats why i have not completely made up my mind, seems all my rides are chrome at the moment hence moving towards a little colour.......

I will post pics of the other two that i am just about to start in the next day or so, dont know where to start...lol

Cheers again,

Ben

Ok, to be honest, the photo link was a giveaway. The photo you posted was changa1.jpg, or something like that. I couldn't see the photo at work, and all it displayed was the link... LOL

Me personally, I always thought VDC's were quite ugly. Well made, but ugly. But that is just me. They are certainly different looking, but they look to have great geometry.

Oh, and Matt, GT made their junior frames with both a euro, or a US, bottom bracket smile.gif Santanamassachusets black 1982 GT mini has a US bottom bracket smile.gif

If only it was a cruiser Glenn, unfortunately, it was 20"...I was actually thinking if I picked up that 20", I would have used my Judge forks instead of Profile forks as I love the security of double thickness drop outs...then I would have had Hutch without forks!
JMCGT

Changed up one of my PR-200's.' this week..bit of Galindo love

and just five inutes ago finished my Cruiser..will get new pics soon

AdrianH
I am soon to take possession of a Whitebear Tbone frame. It is a bike i have always wanted and I would like to know if anyone has any info about them including parts lists and any BMX mag articles.

Went over to Bill's place for dinner and met his family. It was a great afternoon/night and always good to have a home cooked meal when on the road. Oh well, back to the rice and salads again as I think I have eaten half a cow in the last couple of days... Thanks again Bill, and also for the run around the streets in the car even if it was weird to be sitting in a familiar looking car interior without a steering wheel in front of me.

Spent a lot of time looking, touching and riding all the Profile gear. I like it when you can grab a few framesets and see the subtle differences between them. I am now a lot more familiar with Profile parts rather than just the cranks.

Couldn't work out which one I liked the best so I had to try a few out for size.

Maybe a 24"?

No, I'm a 20" person at heart.

This one isn't normally what I would choose for colours however I liked it the most and it just looks tough and functional.

Yes, the lockjaw stem fits in my backpack.

Out for a night ride on the 24".

I couldn't believe it when Bill said these were just taking up space so I handed him a couple of twenties and took off...

DISCLAIMER - no bikes were licked or dry humped in the course of taking these photos.

Oh yeah, funny man...your a freestyler, keep your mits off the good kit!!! I hope your realised the significants of those beautiful bikes happy.gif

Ive corrupted him to the darkside of race bikes Stu. He was having a kick on the 07 Retro Quad, even though my bars were a little too forward for him. He even got to feel the pain of my 44/16 gearing on my 24" Profile sarcastic.gif Feel the burn baby!!

Lockjaw.,....,.,.,,.what lock ja....HEY Mate, thats my lock jaw in your back pocket, and wait, thats also my 185 crank arm in your other pocket.,.,...,and what, I gave you a 20" frame, NOT the Shelby James to take.,..,,.,..,. and my pads are missing. ohmy.gif angry.gif laugh.gif

Ya, I wish we could have gotten out earlier to go riding around more, but still had fun with the time we did, in the dark, damp cold, LOL. Global Domination !!

Ya Stu, after showing James the SE stuff. I took him in the room, and just took out most everything I had, and handed it to him, to hold, and feel, and see. Got to see the real chrome pads, and white pads and the hubs, and the bars, and the stems, and the cranks, and the frames. It was good stuff. Nothing like spreading the knowledge, esp to James. I know he sucked it in, and can help out a bit more in identifying items related to Profile, even though he's a freestyle guy tongue.gif .

Sat down with James and he showed me a bunch of pics of some of you guys at gatherings, hanging out, riding your rides, its was very cool to see. I can kinda put a face to some you guys over there now. Good stuff.
Sumo178
anyone got a nos black Tange or Hatt MX II headset they can sell me?

or mint...
Jarvi
I'm not just a freestyle guy as there's a Hutch, Mongoose, PK Ripper, Floval Flyer from the race side. More a point that I was crap at racing and didn't want to practice or train so freestyle suits my lazy riding style and I like the looks of the bikes too.

I do have a Pro Fit III stem on a freestyle bike which a few people might not approve of, so the lock jaw will work on one of them. Didn't bother grabbing the horseshoe pedals

It was actually great going back to the first gathering at Knox in 2005 through to 2008 and then add Roberto's in there as well.
broke L345
hey James looks like you guys had fun.

hope your trip is going well, where are you off to next?

oh and again thanks for posting all the pics, kinda feels like I'm touring the States too.

Bill hats off to you for being so generous and welcoming...please know if you ever get down to Australia you would have bunch of old schoolers that would be happy to show you around...

I was just stickin it to Jarvi, he has a beautiful collection of race bikes too and knows his stuff...although I'm not sure I need another Aussie collector being interested in Profiles...just means I'll have to bid against him and YOU laugh.gif

I actually arranged the whole set-up... I really needed those parts, especially the Lock Jaw! It was a trade off for some neon green tuffs I have for him laugh.gif

So now you need to put a shot of yourself up on the thread so we too can put a face to a name!
