happy father's day guys! have a great day and i hope the family does it up right for you.

Cheers Dani - Just opened Pressies. Among other things Keeley gave me my fav US candy (Baby Ruth bar).

Thanks Reece - I've been wondering what to put my leather Kashi on and thought the Kos was the perfect build. And I'm saving the Mongoose seat clamp for my Motomag.

Numm! Good choice. Have you ever had a PayDay? They are like Baby Ruth except no chocolate. What's great about them is that the peanuts on the outside are salted. Great contrast to the nougat.

Any plans for a father's day ride? sun_bespectacled.gif
Kurt.
Hey Dani - no I haven't tried a Payday - sounds good though!

It has rained again overnight and this morning - I swear it's like 60 days of rain at some stage every day/night here! Looks like it will clear up though so a ride is definitely on the agenda.
bmxmom
they have them at the usa foods store wink.gif

have a great ride!
COASTY
Thanks Dani. I hope to get on the bike for a ride this afternoon along the esplanade. Perfect weather for it again.
Happy fathers day to everyone. Even Mick! lol
Kurt.
Thanks Dani. Tried a "Manhattan Special Espresso Coffee Soda"yesterday too - made in Brooklyn NY. Nice - sorta like strong coffee flavoured soda with a hint of sarsparilla.

Yeah Glenn - happy Fathers Day to all the Aussie crew. Family is the only thing better than BMX!

Hey Kurt - the rides are nice, is that a new release padded kashi on the Kos?? If so what's the build quality/ride comfort like on them? I like my Kashi's but my butt is not too keen on the o/g units!
Kurt.
Naah she's an old one Brad.

I quite like the old MX Kashi's - a pain I have long grown accustomed to!

Have always found the Aero's quite uncomfortable however - but the covered one is definitely much better.
Bradster
.....too right there Kurt - those seats were definatley not designed for the aussie bloke package!

*end smutty talk here, back to 'G' rating*

Love your bikes Kurt. But I guess the fact that we have most of the same brands in common, (except the Mongeese), that would help...
Kurt.
Thanks Stu. Great thing about this hobby is that everyone builds them just a little bit different, just like BITD - it's the details that are everything in this hobby. I still can't bring myself to build anything completely standard.

I'm heading off this morning to your old stomping grounds. Spending all week in Canberra with my new project. Greenway/Tuggeranong to be precise.
Hutchy
Tell me more about your project Kurt. Stu and I used to live in Farrer which was just a small ride over the hill to the Tuggeranong track to race. Tuggeranong, or Tuggers as we more commonly called it, is a lot bigger now than back then of course. The old Tuggers track is now demolished, like most of the old ones, but apparently the new track is a great track. I have never ridden it though.

I also used to live in Gordon when I first got married.
Kurt.
Hey John, The Federal Gov't organisation I work for has a massive amount of training material. I'm in charge of setting up a project to modernise it, get it all up to date and work out a way of keeping it all up to date.

I'll have to check out the track this week.
AdrianH
Thats a sweet collection Kurt, that cook stem is very nice. I was down in Hobart 2 weeks ago and I think we got the only dry day they had in 2 months lol.

Jarvi, your fly looks even better now with the blue forks, a beautiful ride.

Reece, thanks a million for your help getting that mini to me, my boy and I appreciate it.

Happy Fathers day guys.
AdrianH
A quick aside Kurt, whats this DB serial no. mean to you. Baseball symbol then 4. Then (upside down) 3X057. Thats the info provided by Retrocycles the guy who owns the bike, I would like to know what model it is.

Cheers Adrian

Ah Canberra, awesome place to grow up, no question...great place to move out of! Make sure you take you jumpers Kurt...

Speaking of tracks, we had a ball at out old school race meeting yesterday in Brissy...

New School bikes...booo...I love my chrome too much! Thanks for the photo Volcano or Brisben...(dunno who took it)...looking forward to you recovering John, we need to do a few Hutch Double Up's!!

Volcano
Hey Stu - I took the still shots (on Ben's camera).
Was a great afternoon... has got me interested in having a race on the track now.
Not sure how fast I would be on the KOS though...LOL
Hutchy
Kurt - Do you mind seeing if you can take some pics of the track while you are there? I'll have to visit Canberra again one day.... I guess....

Stu - I can't wait to get back on the bike. At the moment I can hardly ride up to Sam's school (3 blocks away) without cringing in pain. But I am soft after all....

Mick - YOU CAN DO IT! Come on Mick. You don't have to be worried or embarrassed mate. It's all for fun. Just roll around and go from there. if you come off, it's only skin! Just ask Bretto (not of this site).
COASTY
Nice pics Stu, Looks like a lot of fun was had by all.
Kurt.
Hey Adrian - that's a late '83 frame. Baseball = Japan.

Need a side on shot of the complete frame to ID it - could be one of several things.

John - no worries - do you have an address for the track - roughly anyway?

LOL Stu - Just my luck to be sent on a work trip this time of the year to the only place colder than Tassie. Why oh why couldn't they have sent me to the Hamilton Island all-girl topless office??? Nice pics too - styling.

Volcano
Hey John - Is this what u mean by "only skin"?...LOL
Brett was OK (he told me he tried to rub elbows with Craig...oops!)

Hutchy
That is a funny photo. We should have a caption competition for that one!

Kurt, here is the link to their web site map. http://tuggeranong.actbmx.com.au/bmx/image...ong%20Track.jpg

This just arrived and I'm too excited about it not to share . . . NOS 1984 GT Pro Performer frame, forks and bars. They're from Juan who confirmed they were all NOS when he got it:

Congrats Martin, an amazing find!

I just love that og chrome, you could swim in it!!!!!!!!!

Ben
JMCGT
Very nice..
I am currantly building a Mint yellow 84 Pro Performer..Same one i drew in Maths class every second day..LOL
Kurt.
It's one of only two things with that geometry Adrian - either an '83 Medium Pro - (full cromo) or an '83 Silver Streak (tri-moly - which is much more likely - and much more common).

Ask him how thick the dropouts are - if they are 1/16" it is a Medium Pro, if they are 1/8" it is a Silver Streak.

John - thanks for that link. I'll see what I can do. They'll only be mobile phone pics, though it is 2.0 mega pixels.

Martin - you stun us again. Can't be a lot of Merchant Bankers investing in Vintage BMXs, but I reckon they are a more solid investment than a lot over the last year!!!
ACGTO
Martin's on a roll! Keep bringing out the bike porn mate. I think everyone's enjoying it.

What's the go with freestyle though mate!
Jarvi
I'd be too excited to type if I had that. I managed to get a very good survivor condition frame/forks from Darren Chan a while back that is slated to be a Fiola inspired build. I love the early ones.
broke L345
That shot is priceless Mick, I can laugh at it knowing that no Old schoolers were hurt.

Martin, is Juan starting to sell a bit? Nice pick up there.
COASTY
WoW! Martin. That sure is stunning. Another amazing score.
BTW, Plate arrived today Christian. Thanks mate.
Volcano
Awesome GT Martin!!! Wow!

Christian - I just pressed the button on Ben's camera...LOL tongue.gif
mcam
Does anyone here have any yellow NOS Oakley crud plugs? I'm after a pair. If so, please email me or pm me. I'm putting together the last small parts for s build smile.gif

Actually, yellow and/or red...
Hutchy
That's probably the only model freestyle bike from the 80's that I like. It looked like you could take it to the track as well if you wanted. After that model, didn't they go to the double bend main tube? I didn't really like the look of them from then on. I am not trying to offend any freestyle lovers here, I just was never into them.

It must be a priceless feeling getting a NOS Chrome frame and fork like that Martin! Damn nice.
www.martin-bike.com
Kurt - investment - is that what you call this? Maybe one day if we ever muster up the courage to let any of it go.

Adam - freestyle - it's cool. I have 3 going simultaneously right now. An 83 Haro Freestyler, 84 Trick Star and now the GT.

Christian - yes

I'm finally getting some more studio time with the friend who shot my last bikes (for free BTW) end of next week. I can't wait - the guy is a true artist.
84profile
That is stunning Martin! I've sent you a PM as well.

I've got the part out of the trickstar on OZBMX at the moment, but for those of you that aren't on there, here is what is still available at present...(just wanted to give the Aussies the chance before it hits US ebay in part form)

84profile
Scratch that, frame/forks/bars and headset sold....pending payment
Kurt.
LOL Martin - Investment/Obsession - dunno, I can't let anything go either so its hardly an investment. Thinking that it's an investment seems to keep my wife happy though. Ha!

John - took a heap of shots of the Tuggeranong track afer work this arvo - the sign out the front says "Viking BMX Park".

It's a loooong track if they still race there.

I'm not home in Tas till Friday night so I'll upload the pics from my phone over the weekend.

That didn't take long Stu - well done.
AdrianH
Thanks for the info Kurt, its a Silver Streak, he got a great price for it too.

Martin that is a stunning piece of kit mate me likey alot.

I've gotta get something finished soon...

Piker, love the quickie

QuicksilverBMX
Mick: the rims are the origonal smoke anno rims
