ESP, one of the rarest most exotic stems about...stunning and super long...if they weren't so spendy, I'd love one on my Pro Racer to ride with!

That will give you a bit or room Matt, you can loose that lay back now.........lol
Kurt.
Hey fellas - I know it's OT but quite a few of you were interested last time.

We are on again this season in our 3rd consecutive attempt to break the Waterski World Record.

It'll be held over the weekend 30 - 31/1/10 at Strahan on the West Coast of Tassie. We are going for 120 skiiers!

Incat (the fast ferry makers from Hobart) have designed us a new boom to tow the skiiers, which will be attached to the stern of the cat we'll be towed behind. It's costing us $60,000 in materials alone so doing some serious fundraising.

I'll start a thread in the cafe when it gets a bit closer, but stay tuned!

Crazy!

I stayed in Strahan when i was part of a silly reality tv show a few years ago, loved Tassie esp Strahan!

Good luck with it Kurt and let us know when it gets closer.

Fond memories!

Hey Kurt

Just out of interest

what is the current record and how many skiers does 120 break it by???

how long do you need to waterski for?

The physics involved in this is amazing!

AndyDiamond
that Neck Tie thing - actually an ad for Zap Pads.
Thing is you hardly ever saw the boys running Zap pads if at all.
Maybe it was just a short lived thing?

Kurt.
That wouldn't have been first series of "The Mole" would it!?

The current record is 100 skiers - record held by the Cairns Water Ski Club since the early 80's. We have to ski for one nautical mile - 1.8ish kilometres.

Yes - the physics are mind boggling on this - even the marine architects admitted last year they were in completely unknown territory with the various stresses involved.
COASTY
Good luck with the attempt Kurt. I was watching last year and I hope it goes well this year.
Kurt.
Thanks Glenn - it'll be massive if we break it. The TV channels around the world have been lining up to get a piece of it the last couple of years.

Ol' Matty loves his Pattys that's for sure. I'm tipping the lovely long suffering Minna has Patterson jim jams!!

Spot on Kurt, we where trailblazers......lol...a while ago now

Tassie looked after us well, playing skirmish with peeps hanging out of choppers shooting at us, fanging around in cars, boats etc.............and lots of your finest beer tongue.gif

Keep us updated on the attempt, you must be a fit bugger!!!

Ben
Kurt.
LOL - Fit I wish. Fit enough I guess.

That first series of The Mole with Grant Bowler was the first Australian reality TV show wasn't it? Good show too - but it's been all down hill with reality TV since then!

Good luck with the skiing Kurt!

Hey Matt, I am in no way suggesting that your neck tie is non-genuine, but it is slightly different from the one in the picture. There seems to be a much larger space between the nuts (okay I did think about how to word this before typing but was lost for a better description) on the one you have sourced. Is there some adjustment in them or is a solid piece of alloy?
COASTY
I do believe the top nut screws down reducing the gap you mentioned.
Kurt.

I remember that from last time Kurt, that's insane.

danni, good luck but I think the Crows will be a tough match.

Matty do you mean an Anderson Avalanch? that'd be pretty cool.
mcam
Kurt,

That is pretty amazing. Out of curiosity, is that ferry powered by a Hamilton waterjet? I'm pretty sure, as I am the senior programmer at Hamilton Jet, and I recall some works orders out for Incat.

Let me know if you can.

Had a great day with Bruce in Sydney on Wednesday. Here's a couple of photos and more in the 40 and over thread on OS-BMX

These were out first times riding a spine. I didn't have as much style as Bruce.

Really not sure Mike. I know "The Eagle" has a pair of 1500HP Turbo Diesels, but the propulsion system beyond that I don't know.

Okay, that's a cool part you have there. That's the first time I have really seen one. So you must tighten up the stem bolt and then tighten the tie up against the underside of the stem and the top of the headset?

LOL - We all get an attack of the trainspotters from time to time - mine comes on when someone asks to ID a DB!
Kurt.
Haven't posted this here before. This is my '81 Kos - bought her off Reece earlier this year - his long term survivor/rider.

I gave her an OA bath, polish and new sticker set, new seat and clamp 3 months ago. Great things the old Kos.

Took her for a spin this morning (it has FINALLY stopped raining for a day - been wet here for two months!) with my 11 year old daughter - she rode my '83 GT Pro.

Kurt.

Awesome Kurt!!! Looks great mate
Fun to ride hey... good2.gif
Kurt.
Yeah a blast mate. The young punks we passed today were so jealous too - the amount of comments we got today from guys with their bikes "Sick Bike Man", "oh man I want those wheels" etc etc. Keeley was laughing every time.
Hutchy
Nice rides Kurt! I like the sticker on your skid lid!

I get the same when I ride with my son to his school sometimes. The funny thing is they know it's a nice bike, but they have no idea what they are looking at!

It's a bit the same when I look at their freestyle bikes.......
COASTY
Nice one Kurt. They are fun to ride. I can see one in my future sometime soon.
JMCGT
Unreal Kurt..good to see them get out too...
I reakon red and Chrome is my Fav..Love my Red bikes..
And love Reece's red and chrome Quicksilver..
Kurt.
Cheers fellas. The only one I don't really ride is the Cook. The Moose, the XL24, the GT and the Kos all get ridden regularly. James has got me intrigued with getting a new school 20" rider though...

Sorta leaning towards a 2010 loop PK (21" T/T!) but then again, it'd be a lot nicer to build something from scrach the way Jarvi has. I don't know!?!

Wife and I plan on going for a cruise tomorrow - but I have to watch her - she keeps hinting she wants to ride the Kos. I don't trust her, next thing you know it'll be "her" bike and I'll never get to ride it...
Kurt.

I'm hearing you regarding the wife, wanting to ride them, Corrina is always saying she wants to paint my Hutch Pink, I'm like, sure sweetheart, lets build you, your own ...

Failed to mention, that we will only need like $3500 build her, my very own Hollywood!!! wink.gif
