Iwantotbuyahutch
So that was you Adam! I had that on my watch list, doing just that, watching it!

That was a frame and fork from the famous Earl wasn't it? Great score mate! wink.gif
JMCGT
I better stop showing you whats on ebay Adam...LOL..

and thats Mr Hint of Avacado , Stu!!
ACGTO
He had it up on the weekend and it didn't sell then when it was back up I thought I should have a crack. Also got a nice set of hubs off him too.

Will be selling a bit of stuff to recoup some coin and then focus on building a few of the frame/fork sets I have.
Sumo178
MCAM I was kidding!

But (and this is not a poke at the bike it is awesome!) was he building it like the bike shown above? of the OG release for the profile?

OG Profile didn't have a Lock Jaw it had a Pro Neck as does the one above it also ran Cheng Shin tires. If it was an all profile build buy a nos seat clamp off Ed from Colored Tuffs he had nos ones in every color.

Its just what I would have done... but I'm building my Profile as an Eric Rupe replica so its a touch cheaper to build.
Sumo178
Mick I'm catching you with Tange builds.

81 KZ1, 82 Rhino III, 82 HotHeart (heart gusset) and an 83 Laser Lite.

Just want the first Kuw and I'm done with Tange/Kuwahara.

Jeff Haneys Profile *does* have Cheng Shin tyres, just like the test bike. And he does mention that instead of the the Tuf Neck, he put the Lockjaw on, because he had it there. I dont recall Lockjaws. When did they come out?

I dont get the seatclamp statement though. Profile seatclamps were way later?

Jeff Haney still has a Profile double bar though (among a LOT of other bikes smile.gif )
JMCGT
Lock jaw stems were 83 and the seatpost clamp were late 80's i believe..
Volcano
Thanks guys! The bikes came together pretty quick...figured I needed to finally bring a bike (or 5) Roberto's gathering. tongue.gif
Jake - We need to see picks of the Tange & Kuwa builds!
Matt - Yep! Was a good year...more to come I think wink.gif
Stu - That DB even surprised me...LOL...dont think I've seen a DB with yellow tuffs & gold bars before.
Kurt - I'm on a roll...next inline will be my 85 Californian.

The lounge room is getting crowded now..haha

AndyDiamond
That Profile of Jeff's is pretty cool - but for that price I'd expect some better grips and brakes than crappy MX3s and an 890 - lol

Adam - that Hutch is awesome - pink eh - every girls' colour - lol.

We are no going to be asking to see your pink bits - hee hee.
AndyDiamond
PS: dunno if you guys saw the thread at OSBMX but my insurance company paid out for my Hutch theft.

I 'only' got the max payout (minus excess) that is available for un-itemised bikes but it's OK.
Probably about half what it would cost to rebuild both but I'm happy - as much as insurance companies get a bad rap these guys came through with the best deal they could offer according to my policy.

So big thanks to Matt (JMCGT) and Mike (mcam)
for helping with valuations and testimonials for the insurance claim - beers on me!

Also a good point to check your own insurance policies to make sure they reflect what the bikes are actually worth.

I've been so busy lately that I didn't realise that three of my Auctions on ebay are gonna end between 4 and 5pm tomorrow. Isn't that when Ebay reboots it's computers or something? Not sure what to do. ohmy.gif
AndyDiamond
lol - "if you are selling it they will come" - no matter what the time smile.gif
Volcano
Good to hear the insurance co paid u some money Andy.

Here's my Redline MXII Im thinking of doing...Im leaning towards a white powder or chrome...what do u guys think?
Not sure on all the parts Im going to put on it.

AndyDiamond
That Redline looks pretty OG buddy!

Sure that is an MXII?
check the decals - might say MXIII.

Technically that is a 700 model.
ACGTO
Andy, I'm easy, I'll show you my pink bits any day!

Looking forward to building the pink one. Bring out my feminine side!
broke L345
Yeah I hear ya, but last time Reece ended up calling me in a pannic cause it wouldn't allow him to make a bid, and I got 4 emails for a set of 1976 torker decals after they sold for a basement price claiming they couldn't bid on that item either.

not sure if esnipe bids work during that time or not

anyway just thinking alloud I guess.

I kinda like the red frame - could you cut and polish it or is it too far gone?
ACGTO
Mick, Roberto has now got the Proline Red which would look sweet.
broke L345
I like chrome for it Mick, but I also like the Idea of red.

ADAM laugh.gif

here's my old white one....

JMCGT
Great to hear you got SOME money back Andy

Hope your not going to build that NOS frame Adam..!!!! That would be Um - SWEET.. good3.gif
ACGTO
will be building it but like the rest of my junk it won't get ridden.

might use it in the jump contest at Roberto's next year so everyone can get beaten by a girls bike!

Hey guys,

Couple of quick questions for the Australian guys.

1. Does anyone here know or have regular contact with Freshmale (Josh)?
2. If your answer to question 1. is yes, is anyone going to be attending Interbike in Las Vegas this year?

Basically what it boils down to is that I have a frame for him but none of my local carriers will ship it down under without signing away my first born. I live four hours drive from Las Vegas and could easily make the trip. Maybe I could con (or at least convince) one of you to fly this frame back to Australia with you and ship/deliver it from there.

Let me know.

Thanks.

diavolo
hehe..
i like the white for the redline - white ones always looked rad...
good news re: insurance andy, hope you can get back on the same bike one day!

mick: finally had acrack at the OA today, results are 'F-ing Awesome!!' i did take before pics, but my powerbook did the proverbial 'all over' yesterday [oh, i hope this doesn't start that whole convo up again!! ohmy.gif ] so i don't have access to them yet. hopefully i'll get to em! will post AFTER pics soon.. very impressed. now it's down to finding a tub big enough for frames!!
diavolo
oh, anyone got an ACS860 left hand side lever in chrome?
and a white or black viscount dominator seat? any quality at the moment, just need them to set up my FST so i can ride!!
broke L345
Boss hog,

A f/f shouldn't be any more than 70.00 or so. I have had a bunch of them shipped. but you need to use USPS and get tracking on that. I'm sure others will chime in if I'm incorrect.

C.

The frame is prototype/team model that is NOS so it is packaged up fairly well. When I went to the post office, they told me the dimensions were too big to ship to Australia. The second post office told me the same thing. It isn't like the box it came in is huge. It is not much bigger than any other BMX frame box. Maybe I will try to shrink it a bit and see how that goes. good3.gif
Bradster
Yep had a f/f sent over a few weeks back - USPS priority air with online tracking, just under $70US.
biggrin.gif
broke L345
NOS proto type hey................................maybe I'll come pick that up for you angel.png
Iwantotbuyahutch
I have come across this problem a couple of times and have found that if the box is JUST bigger that the frame length then it should get through. I don't know what their length limit is, but it must be close to the length of a frame. Glad we are shipping BMX bikes over the Pacific. Road or Mountain bikes would be a nightmare.

Well you should would deserve to pay more if you were riding a road bike!!! laugh.gif

I've had many completes shipped for around $180...just need to get it under the maximum size...once it is over and you go to ups or fedex you will have to pay with your kidneys...as already stated about $70 - $90 with the forks out of the frame would be about right....

Oh and for the love of God will someone buy this, cause it is killing me NOT hitting the BIN......it seems super cheap....anyone seen what a Torker 6 bolt stem along goes for!!!

I think that is a bargain...(oh it's not mine and I don't know the dude)

Hey Stu ive been eying this one of since its first auction, it didnt sell then at $999.....Ive spoken to the seller & he seems honest & helpful...
Now I just gotta list my NOS SuperMax cro-Mo & im set smile.gif

Notice in the description heading there is a word there rthjat reads something like "Elina"...
Hmmmmmmmmmm..

SMD!
Craig....
Iwantotbuyahutch
It ends up being about $1K AU shipped, which isn't bad considering the parts list. Not a Torker lover myself, but surely someone will snap it up shortly. Don't hesitate Craig!

And Stu, what's wrong with Road Bikes and wearing skin tight lycra in public? The only issue is might my reaction if I stare too long at some of the babes that also run along the same pathway as I ride. tongue.gif There are some benefits to riding Road Bikes!
AndyDiamond
The seller - Hector - is a straight up guy.
broke L345
Unfortunately not a loved model. they were a cheaply made bike so guys like me who rode them BITD don't care for them. I raced my 280X once and then got rid of it.

woudn't have another one. Although it is a bargain

Iwantotbuyahutch
That's your best build I have seen Mick. Very nice! The seat must have been hard to find?
Volcano
Thanks guys! The gold DB pedals & padset dictated the direction of the build.
John - that DB seat wasn't as hard to find as the Grab On's...I have another yellow DB Kashi which I may dye black for a build.
Got a NOS red seat for my Senior Pro build too.
James - There's always next year mate!
Ben - Not as cool as your Bobby Goose!!! Man that is one SWEET build...gotta do that plate for it too.
