Kurt.
Hey congrats Stu!

Got those Cook bolts and springs here for you - unless you are in a hurry I'll chuck them in my luggage for Roberto's.
Volcano
Woohoo! well done Stu.
Looked like a wonderful wedding & honeymoon.
Bradster
Hey Stu - congrats on the wedding bliss, welcome to married life!

Okay - so who sent that eastern states weather over to our sunny Perth??!!!???

(my front yard about 1/2 hr ago.......)

tongue.gif
Iwantotbuyahutch
Welcome back Stu! Life must be a downer right now after Paris! We have been really keen to get back to France after our visit. It's a magic place. Congratulations on a great wedding and welcome to the club! wink.gif

Brad, I am guessing that is hail on your front lawn? Or did you just empty the eskys after a massive party?
Volcano
Anyone heard about this from Tioga???

Joe Bag O Donuts

I saw that a little while ago and it's true . What's next ? Haro lightning bolt plates ?
Bradster
John - yeah, good heavy hail for about 20 mins, quite a novelty to see over here!
Jarvi
Brad, we didn't send it over, it's still bloody here. I can't believe it is raining again/still up here. I think about 80% of the days have had rain since I arrived.
COASTY
Oh so it's your fault James! tongue.gif
I think we're in for more. As long as it's gone by the end of the month.
AndyDiamond
Yep - those Comp IIIs are real.
I think John de Bruin may have had something to do with it.
Jarvi
Yes, I'll take the blame Glenn. The place I'm looking at going to has 350 days of sunshine and I'm sure they will need to rewrite the record books once I arrive. Only problem so far is the accommodation per week is about what I want to pay per year.

We can always help Jnr, I mean Roberto clear out the building so we can hold it inside if it's still raining. I'm sure he'd be cool with all the equipment getting wet.
AndyDiamond
Here's a dumb one for ya:

Auction reads:

OLD SCHOOL COMP3 GUM WALL TYRES

AUCTION IS FOR A FACTORY BRAND NEW BUNDLE OF 50 TYRES...

IF YOU WOULD BE KEEN ON LESS THAN 50 TYRES PLEASE INQUIRE

SHIPPING TIME EX-FACTORY IS 3 MONTHS

THE SAME TYRES HAVE SOLD BY OTHER PEOPLE ON TRADEME..FOR OVER $60 PER PAIR...

PAYMENT IS NOT DUE UNTILL 5 DAYS BEFORE ITS POSTED TO YOUR DOOR STEP..THEN YOU WILL HAVE TYRES WITHIN 5-7 DAYS DEPENDING ON COUIER..AROUND THE SOUTH ISLAND WILL BE OVER NITE..

BUT MAY BE 3 MONTHS AWAY FROM AUCTION CLOSE AS I HAVE TO BUY 10 BUNDLES OF 50 TYRES...YES 500 BRAND NEW OLD SCHOOL TYRES..

50 TYRES @ $1000 = $20 EACH...YOU WILL NEVER BUY THEM CHEAPER..

So I ask a question:
Are these the 'reissue' "yellow label" Tioga Comp IIIs or NOS (new old stock) tyres?

And the answer is:

CST AKA Maxxis is the brand..Tyres have Cheng Shin on the sides..Tyres are Gum Wall ..Not the old Skin Wall as per the Tioga's had in the 80's...Today Comp3 is just the name of the tread pattern..On this brand of tyre..

uhhhhh- right - so I (or anyone) could have been these tyres thinking they were Comp IIIs!
What an idiot listing!

PS: Price is in NZ$

If you are thinking of Monarco, we just got back...first we were choosing our boat

Nailed it down to this one:

Then we had to pick our car...looked at these:

The wife ended up choosing this one, which I thought was a good choice:

....then we caught our bus home.... dry.gif

Jarvi
Stu, not really looking to compromise my current lifestyle so I'll have to give those recommendations a miss. I'd love to do Monaco, although I was talking about the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. I can't even afford the 10% tax on the rates let alone the actual rates.

Having money must suck because of all the decisions and bank transfers to organise.
84profile
Dam dude, I can't even spell Monaco! To late to edit it too!!

I just got Ruddy cash and it is going straight back to pay my tax bill...Tell me how much that sucks!!
broke L345
we had the same car choice problem in Paris...............

ended up with this bucket....

mcam
What IS the deal with those yellow label Comp III tires? Are they available at all? If so, where?

I see a lot of photos, but no info sad.gif
mcam
Uh, Maldat? smile.gif

Slowest build ever is taking shape...thanks the Matty (JMCGT) I have a reasonable blue elina...now I have also recieved my rear blue IRC Z1 tire. I just need a fatty 2.125 IRC tire to make it totally OEM...I think I'm going to do a little anodising and leave the rest as survivor...although if I can't get the freewheel off (trashed) I might have to locate another Suntour hub...

On another note, does anyone know where I can locate a loose ball 28t bottom bracket, other than vert-ego?

A mate of mine (old BMX mate) came up to the Gold Coast be my best man for my wedding, and he was staying at a beachside apartment with his wife. Whilst he was there he found an old clunker that had been locked up to pole in the basement..he asked the apartment owners about it, they told him he could have it for $20 as it had been there for ever...it had 401 Flight Cranks on it, which he stripped off it (the rest was junk)...but the nuff nuff left the bottom bracket behind!
AndyDiamond
Stu - those rear SunTour high flange hubs are impossible to find.

I tried to find a match for my gold one for a year to no avail and found out that they are very scarce.
Front ones are fairly easy to find.

Now this has got me stumped

anyone seen one of these

it's like the bastard child of a Skyway TA and a Kuwahara Laser Lite - well at least the front half is

the brake bridge and dropouts have got me totally stumped -

Can anyone id it - I've spent a lot of time looking at pics around the place but most have brakes on them so I can't see the bridge - the dropouts are hard to find as well
