Hey guys, hope that someone can suggest a quality powder coater in Brisbane or Gold Coast. I want the finish to look awesome in gloss black.

This is for my re-build (obviously) on a painted frame and fork. Do I have to sand back to bare metal before I go there. Last thing that I got powder coated was 12 years ago but I cant remember what I did.

Cheers
meatpie
Go to the powdercoaters on oldskoolbmx.com in the services section...I've got my redline there at the moment & the young bloke there named Rob has a sick looking old Haro that he built up! I took one look at his bike & i new that they did quailty work! Their prices are pretty good to! Tell em Scotty sent ya!
meatpie
That site is down at the moment so i looked it up in the phonebook 4 ya it's 38991277 & they are at Morningside
Lewis EL & Sons 156 Riverside Pl .....Rob is one of the sons & he's a top bloke too!
Gioscarbon
Heres an Aussie build of my old Robinson.
Gioscarbon
Aaagh!!! I always seem to have trouble hosting pics guys. Sorry. Maybe I could e-mail them to a fellow Aussie Old Schooler and they could host for me?
leroy
This is exactly what I wanted....... firstly a shop that know what they are doing and then someone who sounds like they actually give a sh*t about returning a quality job on what other shops look at as 'just an old bike'.

I will see them on Tuesday.

Lets get some pics up here of Aussie builds.

Cheers
AussieRampar
Picklediddy,

Its just frame and fork (and bars) sitting on some Schweeeet wheels at the moment, I'm probably selling my compIIIs, I couldn't bear to ride on 'em (I've got yellow and red- yellow may be spoken for {Chris?})

Hey Scotty,

I went and saw Rob (powdercoating) ... top bloke. He showed me his GT Performer that he was working on.... enough to convince me that they do awesome work.

With regard to anodizing, I have heard that there is a place in Bris called something like, Brisbane Nameplates, or South East Nameplates.... or something Nameplates....(too much beer affects memory ) I know that this is stuff all help however I was told that they are THE anodizers in Bris. Hope this helps.

Sweet Robinson, First bike that I have seen re-build with radial spoking in the front wheel and the left hand rear, this is how mine is spoked now and will also be for my re-build.

Anyway... Cheers
Pete Porker
I've been outed !!!!
AussieRampar
I've been away from the computer, I was going to say "no I'm not" but thats sorta redundant now.

Mick, You do know me, I'm in Toowoomba, I'm sure Glen introduced us a while back.

Pete Porker,

I'm so p#$$ed that I missed that gold stem!!!! practically gave it away, I can't even get an
Ashtabula that cheap.

Scotty,
With regard to anodizing, if you try that mob above LMK how it works out. I've had some fab/welding work done up here in Toowoomba by the company that builds Azzurro Race Carts (previous world champs) and they reckon that the only decent anodizing is done by a firm in Sydney, if you like I'll find out the name if you like.

I was going to have a go at anodizing myself, I've got some instructions lying around here somewhere, If I find them Ill mail them to you.

-(the other) Pete.
Pete Porker
gold stem- yeah i know i was hoping for more!
i've got annodising done in sydney at a place in newtown, run by a husband and wife that are about 90 years old and i think the guy did his aprentiship in the same building! but excellent quality work!

Hopefully this gets the Aussie thread to 20 pages

Just wanted to say hi all, I have only discovered this board in the last couple of months, after re-discovering my old 1981-82 Crossrider in my parents garage. It is in some serious need of TLC, and I really want to finish the customising job I began on it BITD.

I had no idea that the whole Old School scene was so advanced, and was knocked out when the first post I read was started by Stu Thomsen! His was the first and only name I could remember from my old "Pancake" magazine reading days. As soon as I started reading through the rest of the boards here all the other names and bikes came flooding back... thanks for the memories all!

Have a feeling I could be spending some serious time here

Cheers!

Will

Good old Trev ! - every time I see him I ask 2 things
